taking K makes my hearing sometimes go like a GSM (mobile) phone where there is a bad signal, I also stopped doing it (or minimsed use) as I equally like taking photos and I couldn’t focus for shit or hold a camera straight when I was on the stuff. The reason I think it became so popular on the UK scene especially unlicensed events is interlinked with what Loggy said about why a UK tek would fuck up as everyone tried to squeeze the last bit of cash out of it.
It was not even class C for many years, and at that point a very quick cash earner for young middle class dealers with very few risks of arrest/imprisonment. Whole sound systems and party tours were funded on the stuff, there was so much spare cash it meant that crews did not care if stacks got taken more than once as they could buy another one – no one cared at least until people insides started to fall apart. Another vicious circle was that its use made folk have less empathy to others and thus increased the impact unlicensed events had on a wider society (if you compare the attitudes of crews like Biotech and their peers in the 90s/early 2000s to the newer EA crews that is immediately apparent.)
The saddest part of it was that this really wasn’t any one groups fault but everyone making mistakes, people didn’t realise what they were doing to themselves and I can understand why the UK govt would find it difficult to make it class B or A (which would at least nudge people back to better and safer party drugs) as I work in healthcare and that would increase costs and security burdens to innocent people.
Incidentally I’ve noticed Dutch people on here mention that K isn’t as easy to find out there but pills are abundant.
