I always wanted to be on this show, but I believe the kids who would have been on it would have been friends and family of TV executives ETC. Was blood good though.

“Where am I”
Posh kid replys in his high pitched voice “you’re in a reasonalbly large room” Lols (Or LOLCANO as george would say)
Here’s a better clip
Aww man I used to fooking love knightmare! … best thing on T.V. ever!
I used to get propper freaked out when they fell through the floor, I actually thought they died lol.
They did actually die, it was fucking real man. I always wondered what you got for winning, other that fisted by the producers.

I liked it when he had his sex toy “Pickle” by his side
1.25 I bet they hated that kid for telling him that. Although it is now well known that certain teams were allowed second chances. Also some ex dungeoneers have talked about waiting in the green room for up to an hour between rooms. But saying that it really took allot of hard work to get them costumes right after all. Nah the green screen studios were probably a pain in the arse to arrange
most of the kids weren’t related to the production staff but would have come from East Anglia as the show was made at Studio A Anglia Norwich – as they needed a larger blue/green screen studio then the ones used for weather (which is where the idea came from, Anglia in those days specialised in stuff like weather and then environment due to the regions location, and thus had access to what was then a very powerful (and expensive) computer needed to do the graphics.
I nearly moved to this area in the late 90s / early 2000s to work on the “yoof/clubbing” channel Rapture (which appears to have been heavily inspired by the “knightmare” generation) but it closed down due to budget cuts 😥
The studios still survive although sadly they are not used for a great deal these days. Apparently the studio manager is one of the former producers off Knightmare.

Oh right, I was doing some reading up on the shows producers etc and the kids who were on it and your right, they were all legit contestants, apparantly the selection process was long winded. It also inspired allot of computer games back then, and allot of people to do other things with the technology. In a (bad qualitly) inteveiw with the producers I downloaded earlier, from 2006 he mentioned that he’s working on a new project allong the same lines as knighmare using VR etc. But I don’t think anything has come of it. He did say that he would doubt that it woul be a kids show this time roulnd cos so much has changed. Back then It couldn’t really have been anything else but a kids show. Awsome show though. If you care to check out the videos you can find them on whats left of this dedicated website Knightmare – the award-winning Children’s ITV adventure game show
the main holding company what owns the rights to Knightmare went bust over the last few years. unfortunately young peoples media is pretty much fucked in some respects, ironically because of tech developments/advances youtube/broadband and a lot of things being free.
there are multiple problems – todays youth don’t have the money they once did compared with even the 90s, they are also less susceptible to advertising and/or know how to block it out, and what ad revenue remains is split across 50 different companies so none of them make enough to keep a programme going..
about 12 years ago when I was working in the industry and trying to move from engineering to production the old boys were warning me of all this – I thought they were being overly pessimistic but in hindsight they were 100% right. in some ways though its a good thing I ended up soon after going back into corporate ICT rather than getting a few months in a dream job only to see it disappear in weeks as that sort of knockback can lead to hardcore mental health problems/addictions etc..
a lot of locals were berating Norfolk Council for selling off the EPIC production centre for a relatively low price to a private production company (I personally think the Council might as well have kept it) but that was the only way of preserving the few jobs what remained there….
