you meedja lot want a fucking drugs story? here’s one, I built up most of (and dismantled later so it could be shipped to London) the test system of the entire Channel 4 multichannel playout system, in the 1990s,. automated MCR, connected to 3 Digitbetas, console, some Unix server for ads (in place of smaller betacarts) for main C4, E4, T4 + regional optouts and I was chokl full of amfetamine whilst doing so. it was the only way I could cope with the long work hours, the stress of all the third party suppliers and my then employers arguing about software protcols and trying to protect their own “intellectual property” not realising that if we don’t work all together no one get to watch anything on their fucking idiot box and have a social life at the same time.
