Any advice greatly appreciated…. I am thinking of throwing parties in a very small venue (30-40 people) it will be invite only but i need to sell alcohol to pay for the dj, doorman rent etc. Anyone got any ideas about a way to do this legally and without a license? If not, whats the liklihood of me getting caught and likely punishment?

you could always run a tombola….if you get a ticket ending in a 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 or a 9 you win a beer. Duno how legal that is though.

A club I went to used to sell cans of red bull for about £3, buy one get a free vodka with it. They did this so as they could sell after 1am when their liquor licence was valid until. I dont know how well it worked but theyve shut down now. I wouldnt be suprised if it had nothing to do with alcohol since they were the dodgiest bastards on earth.

yerp, this usually the best bet. so long as the money and tickets are kept in a different place to the “prizes” you should be in the clear.

again, im pretty sure thats the loophole, and we’ve never been done for it, but im no lawyer..

I’m sure I have read that the ticket loophole is covered in the letter of the law with the alcohol licence thing.
