A woman has been taken to hospital after police were called to deal with a suspect package at premises in central London.

BBC Home Affairs correspondent Daniel Sandford said what was thought to be a “letter bomb” was found at the Capita building in Victoria Street, Victoria.

Bomb disposal experts are at the scene. London Ambulance said the female employee had suffered minor injuries.

The main road outside the building was closed off with a cordon set up.

The scene is just 200 yards from Scotland Yard’s headquarters.

A police spokesman said: “We were called at around 0940 this morning to reports of a suspect package at a business address in Victoria Street.

“A female employee has been taken to hospital with minor injuries.”

what is worse is that although they aren’t as powerful as the 2005 or 1999 attacks in London, these bombs do not appear to be the work of “organised” terrorist or political groups..

So it is going to be even harder for the police and security services to catch who is doing it.

I find it worse IMO that individuals who haven’t been “brainwashed” by religion or politics appear to be becoming so angry they are prepared to go to the extreme measures of sending a bomb to an organisation they don’t agree with…

it now appears that the bomber is someone angry at controls on motorists in the United Kingdom – (speed cameras, congestion charge, licensing)

seems like a particularly selfish form of “individualistic terrorism” to me… this IMO is the “Western” form of terrorism… (another example is the “suicide driver” who in 2004 parked his car deliberately on a level crossing, killing many people as a high speed train was derailed…)

The man coordinating the police investigation into a series of letter bomb attacks says the devices are intended to injure, not kill.

after i took my driving test it took over a year to get my license, due to incompetant staff at DVLA

i felt like sending them a turd in the post, to show how i felt (but i kept missing the envelope). a bomb is a bit harsh though
