My incapacity increased over time and that means my rate of housing benefit and council tax benefit would have increased.

I informed them at the time 2 years ago and didnt get the thing stamped to say received.

Ive given the info 3 times recently and they wont backdate my hosing claim since it is an “advantageous thing for me”.

Anyone else have the same experience?

Im back to work now and i really can do with the money.

I keep apealing and not getting no further.

Im going back in with a letter and all documentation to resolve

Any tips or pointers who I should go too?

    Elliot

We are talking about 1300 quid BTW

    :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Potentially Lost and down the toilet

there’s some sort of Local Government Ombudsman who deals with cases like this

    http://www.lgo.org.uk/

you have to contact the central lot and then the case is passed to London Millbank for your region.

have you tried the ‘citizens advise beuro’?

we find they are iinvaluable at benefits advise / appeal advise etc

good luck, they are a nightmare to deal with!

I had many stressful months with Housing Benefit once. They took 8 bastard months to sort out me benefit, luckily me landlord at the time was sound otherwise I could have been homeless again.

Citizens advice will have a specialist in this area – I used them to sort out mine when they werent playing nice about benefits at the council

yeah they are good but getting an appointment is:hopeless:

I got one 4 days after I rang up at my local one but yeah it can be a nightmare :hopeless:

I discovered that if you went in on the days when the person you wanted to see was in even if you didnt have an appointment you might get lucky and get a hand with the case anyway – it might take a few hours though. [My local CAB seems to have certain days for council tax benefit and all their advisors on that day can help]

Thats the one boys and girls – thanks TG – I called Thursday and Friday to get times etc.

Looks like I will go in early morning and discuss with them – they have been great in the past and now I will take this route.

GL – Im also looking into that site and using the term “Maladministration” which is the correct legal term and hoopefully I will get the £1300 they owe my Housing association. Not me.

The excuse is, They will not pay it because its an advantage to me!

    ***kers

Ive got a fight on my hands here
