It is true that they use the stargate to travel to other planets but in a number of episodes they have gated to parallel universes mostly by accident.

I know this because i have the rather unfortunate ability to remember almost everything i watch on TV.

If only i could use this power for learning important stuff instead of just mindless television programs.

Ok, massive nerd mode on here guys, but I think they can travel to different places in time aswell, when the path of the Stargate goes through the sun at the exact same time as a solar flare 😀

They went to alternative universes aswell but I can’t remember how. In Stargate Atlantis I remember an episode anyway.
