Can we expect to see more ketamine use? Martin Barnes, chief executive of DrugScope, the national membership organisation for the drug sector, suggests that ketamine’s esoteric effects may put a natural barrier on its popularity. (There is significant anti-ketamine feeling on the clubbing scene, with users referred to as “zombies” for their knack of ruining the party atmosphere.) However, he does agree that it is currently more fashionable than it has ever been.

“Drugs can go through cycles of use and are as susceptible to trends as other aspects of society,” he tells me. “Substances may be ‘in vogue’ for a time, then slip back into relative obscurity. There is evidence that ketamine use has been on the rise in the past few years – this is clearly concerning due to the significant short- and long-term health risks associated with the drug.”

worth reading the whole article IMO

god bless ketamine and all whole sail in her.

Good to read an accurate article. I think MXE will worm it’s way into the spotlight pretty soon. still cant see it being as heavily abused as K however.

If I had to share a room with a horse on drugs I’d rather it was on K than anything else, coke, alcohol, speed, MDMA, crack which would just get it radged up so it runs around kicking off and bumping into stuff…

Predictable behaviour from the Sun :you_crazy:

Sun makes me laugh so hard. I can’t believe all it takes is an article in a paper and people will believe it! So much hype and zero facts. (Most of the time).

Drug Users are not fools. It’s rife at universities – clearly not a place full of fools. Fools are people that listen to the news and read the newspapers that have reports written by people that have never even experienced what they’re writing about….and then go ahead and adopt the same opinion. Fools are people that don’t realise that smoking and drinking are the two biggest killers in the UK ……but we have to pay tax to indulge in them. Is it just a coincidence that government policy seems to say that if you pay tax on it then its OK? If you want to see the effects of drinking, go and hang about a few town centres at 11pm and see what the people on the legal stuff get up to….punching each pthers heads in, causing damage, vomiting…….it’s a joke

    from the sun comments.
