Mapping out the next 12 months of legal highs | Dazed
A look at how the legal high/RC/NPS cat and mouse game is played year after year. Never heard of any of those compounds mentioned in the article but it’s the usual disociatives and whatever else the chemists can glue a molecule on to get an active product.
Interesting… Might stock up on my faves in case they get too clever
Quite a riveting read. Nice article.
Thanks.
RCs scared me when I was introduced to them back in 1989 and most definitely scared me when omitted to the ER in 2004, and then again during the “bath salt” era. They have given me some of the most spiritual experiences ever and hey some have given me some of the best party nights out EXCEPT they must be respected, never taken for granted and just like rock fishing – never turn your back on Mother Nature
What worries me is the attitude of our youth …. No longer do they drop eccies and blotters …. They drop pills and powder (with little knowledge of what it actually is nor do they care……the lads around my town just want to get munted!!!)
That concerns me

That’s not just an Australian thing mate. It seems pretty global in fact. But I don’t think the younger generation has developed a more reckless attitude, I think it’s just the emergence of the RC market has enabled those types to explore a bit more than the generations before them, that did not have access to such a wide plethora of different substances.
I agree though that people’s thought process of ‘yeah, I’ll get high off this plant food/bath salt’ is an alarming one. But then again, I was once the type of nipper that would do exactly that, without considering what the salts or plant food contained. I won’t take anything ambiguously labelled like that anymore and I avoid branded products. I like to know what’s entering me now; but there was a time when I didn’t give a shit

Yee fair mate, I remember when tripstacy hit aus, all the pretty beads in those clear capsules, never asked what was in them just chooged em down …… Enter the 2x era. Althought we did make use of natural gear, mushiness, DMT, daytura, brogmansia, deadly nightshade ( fuck one night we had to stop and put the pizza in the boot as it was making too much noise!!!!). I’m getting picky in my old age, no psyconaut anymore

Even from my hayday in 2008-2010 to now the culture has changed; I at least made an effort of knowing what the fuck it was, now anything will do as long as it gets the kids fucked up; some of it is a crackdown on all the good stuff forcing kids to take dodgy shit but equally as much it is an overly headonistic macho superman culture where they just wanna get spangled
