dunno about what my IQ currently is (it was tested as at age 7 and showed around 120+ but I didn’t score as welll as my parents wanted as I am easily distracted (probably got a low level of undiagnosed ADHD/Aspergers) – but TBH I started with smoking marijiuana to try and escape the effects of contstant exams and parental pressure. It certainly didn’t do my A-level grades a great deal of good but I believe a lot of this “IQ decline” is simply due to the way schools operate and constant examination/judging/testing of young people.

I did not even want to go near drugs until 1987 when the exams all started (did 3 O levels early)

Tbh I have no idea of my IQ (intelligence quota is a bit of a shit way to put it imo). When I left school I did sit some aptitude tests for an engineering apprenticeship and in those tests I scored in the top 3% of 5000 that took the tests. Ican see thre value of these tests to some degree but I don’t value the results highly.

I def wouldn’t score as well as I did when I took it about the same age as GL but I think blaming cannabis ect is a shitty copout. IDK much about the tests but I think it compares your intelligence to what the average for your age should be so younger people just do better (like a 200 for a 10 year old means they are as smart as someone 2x their age whereas scoring 200 for a 20 year old doesn’t mean the same thing quite).

Without measuring someones IQ before using cannabis and then testing after I can’t see how any results could be gained at all.

Yooo lets get a kid to take an IQ test at age 12 or so and then make them smoke marijuana all the time until age ~20 and retest them. totally ethical.
