Martial arts forum

I may be starting a martial arts (wing chun) forum up with a guy I know. Any advise for getting it off the ground? Am I right in thinking I just need to buy a domain name, rent server space and get the software, chuck it on the sever and set it up? There’s no other steps I’m missing out?

you need to target harden the code against spammers and hackers. think about all the stuff like supplements they will be trying to punt out there.

it can be like the online version of a jackie chan style fight where the buggers are coming at you from all directions.

on my blogs when I used less secure software I got spammed with multi species weight loss and strength building pills, they were apparently good for both humans and cats :laugh_at:

The forum software makers have their own forums. vbulletin is supposed to be one of the more secure forum software versions though not the cheapest. it would mean though that expertise would be easier to share as well as us Tribal Living and Internet Radio use it.. (as does a forum for many private detectives!)
