As early as 2013! Scientists have warned that massive space storms could be on the way as the Sun wakes from a ‘deep slumber’. The resulting storms could damage all electronics and totally fuck our planet up (electronic wise that is).

What do we all think about this then?
I just hope that by 2013 it doesn’t end up like the ending of that film Knowing.
It so then it would suck total monkey balls.
It’s nothing to do with it sleeping … every few thosand years the suns magnetic poles reverse .. and aparently so does the earths (as the sun is the bigest magnet acting on the earth and we play by it’s rules)…. what happens is the magnetic fields of the sun rap up ever tighter as it spins one way (the magnetic fields don’t move as fast as the planets rotation and wind up like if you was to spin a rubber band round your fingure) … sun spots are buckles in the magnetic fields and solar flares are when a magnetic field breaks …
after theese few thousand years of winding up one way .. the enevitable happens and the fields spring backwars and start unwinding …
the end of the mayan calender 2012 marks this ocasion in the suns cycle (afaik) ..
the hottest point’s on earth .. the point’s through out history where the human race has been thriving the most, due to the fact the the sun gives life and it’s at it’s most active in our perception (hottest),is when the cycle is switching …
at this point of the suns cycle there are alot of solar flares as the magnetic fields are at there tightest .. i’m not sure if this is the cause of the “space storm” … but for some reason there will be alot of particles in space coming from the sun at this point …
this has an effect on cosmic rays … i can’t remeber the exact importance of them at the moment .. but it’s got alot do do with global warming
Garry Denke has also been mentioning this in his posts for some time.
the risk to the electricity supply is because of big pylons with uninsulated aluminium cable carrying 132 000V or 400 000 V in this country.
the solar wind itself blows at the field of magnetic particles which surround the earth.
if it is strong enough, a changing magnetic field what wasn’t there before is set up next to the wires of the pylon. You may remember from high school science that a changing magnetic field next to a wire generates electricity.
but all this electricity is in addition to the 400 000V already there, and it is a pulse of direct current..
when this arrives at the National Grid to EDF transformer (which is not designed to handle this kind of extra electricity ) it can overheat quite spectacularly (like that one in Chelmsford what blew).
Also there are now way more small devices which depend on wireless comms – mobile phones, GPS etc. all this extra electricity in the air means that the wireless signals all end up in the wrong place. although in most cases these will just temporarily refuse to work until all the interference has gone, even this will have knock on economic and social effects, for instance if no one can use their mobile buisness will use the fixed telephone, internet and VOIP more and these will be overloaded. that is of course assuming there is still leccy to make things work, only BT tend to have long term backup power systems!
So I should start stocking up on the tins of beans and loo roll then. I always knew this day would come
it’s to do with the sunspots syncing up with the magnetic field. Interesting they said it would start late 2012. now what else is happening then..

olyimpics?
sunspots happened in 1980/1981, possibly in 1991/2 (too busy raving then to remember) and certainly in 1999/2000.
they don’t always cause permanent damage to electronics, but what does happen is radio signals take strange paths. This happens around summer. If you live in SE England, you may occasionally have seen foreign TV appear on your screen mixed in with the domestic picture. in 1999/2000 this benefited ravers in country areas near the coast, as cops then used analogue VHF radios. But some other European countries use this VHF band for their television service!
So the telly soundtrack got into the cops radios (was amusing to listen to the chaos on the scanner) this meant it was against health and safety rules for cops to shut down the raves without adequate comms equipment.
cops now have digitial Airwave, but I don’t think this system has ever been tested under conditions of intense solar activity. If its swamped and the terminals cannot security check against the base station (same as your mobile does every so often) the whole thing will simply stop working in some areas!
Nice close up of a sun spot for everyone 😀
The middle dark bit is cooler than the rest of the sun and the magnetic field is at it’s strongest there …
It’s where the magnetic field has wound up so tight it’s buckeled and been pushed out of the suns surface from within.
The lighter “ring” is slightly less magnetic and the magnetic feilds are mor horizantle here.
garry denke is actually rather an intelligent fellow

I think learning ‘bear grylls’ style survival skills might be in order.
Just in case like!

a camera crew, helicopter and hotel then you reckon?

Bear Grylls doesn’t use hotels, He’s a man of the woods, sort of like deliverance but without the bummings. 😉

Deliverance? Bummings? the what now?!
Cant stand Mr Grylls, he gives some of the most daft advice on the planet. For a start he runs everywhere and takes massive risks for no reason what ever. Oh dont even get me started.
I’m totally different, I love Born survivor. Some of the advice he’s given has even worked for me.
I try and eat as many insects as I can now. It’s all about the protein innit!
