ok so i have taken up many new ideas in life, which are continuing to blossom, one of which i have been starting to meditate recently (2 weeks), and so far so good…
i have had A LOT of experiences, my uncle is very very spiritual so i always ask him to help translate my visualisations and help interpret what i see…
Im loving it, im learning a lot about myself, and im learning how to better myself, and what i need to focus on for now..
just now though, i had quite a scary experience, so my third eye had started to open at an alarmingly fast rate, and i felt my third eye literally POP when i started to meditate just now, i saw a bridge, took a step and POP, so i stood back, taken back, kind of scared, thinking WTF…. BUT i thought, ok, nothing can harm you *deep breathe* and i carried on in to the void… so as soon as i stepped off of the bridge… i was in a whole other world, it was me, my power animal, the bridge and a shit load of mist…
i had a few negative energies appear to me, trying to get me to follow them and shit, i shooed them off and after one more appearance i decided to leave, so i made my way back, and found myself looking at myself in third person, staring up at a figure on a hill, in the distance, now apparently this figure is someone watching over me, possibly my guardian/spirit guide?
this was only once of many many weird experiences, but any input on this and maybe how to prevent the negative energies? i know they are just tests for me, to help me gain more strength, but after only meditating like 10 times so far, its quite rapid seeing as it takes some people years… im in no way complaining 😛
Meditation isn’t something I practice but I do have some knowledge on it. Meditation I believe can indeed be a powerful tool for those who believe in it and want it to work. Unfortunately I don’t think I could get my mind in a relaxed enough state to successfully meditate with any positive effect.
I’m really not sure how to interpret your experience to be honest, it does sound rather profound and unusual. My girlfriend used to be into meditation and many other holistic practices, she still works as a masseuse. Many people under estimate the powerful medicinal affects a massage can have besides pain relief and relaxation. My girlfriend has told me of ‘journeys’ she’s had whilst in a deep meditative trance. Her power animal if I recall was a monkey, this same animal would appear to her whenever she achieved this state of mind and guide her through whatever landscape she found herself in. She claims that this has taught her many things about life and has sought and received answers through such practices.
She doesn’t do meditation anymore but I imagine it has contributed to the person she has developed into.
Meditation is really the key to soul opening, drinking is kinda like meditating in a way haha, to the body

There is a classic Bhuddist parable; a teacherr shows a novice the ideas and practise of meditation to a novice. The teacher tells the novice to get down and meditate as long as they can without interruption. Then the teacher walks out the door.
10 minutes later, the new meditator is banging on the door; “Teacher! I went to heaven! I met all the Prophets and God Himself! All the ranks of Heaven bowed to me! I was in ecstasy”.
The teacher just says “That’s normal. Now, what did I tell you about just meditating continuously and not letting the process interrupt you?”
Now, a physicalist will probably just say it’s all in your head, and the “entities” you come across are just projections of your own unconscious.
As there isn’t a way (yet) to actually verify (or not) the mental landscapes of meditates first hand, in real time (like a TV screen linked to their head) it’s all very conjectural arguing about the process.
Glad you are having fun with it. 🙂
I find meditation is a skill I would not be without although it seems a lot of people who “meditate” don’t even understand the concept. It has no religious connotations for me whatsoever just for the record. From what you have said I would not consider it a meditation I would recognise (though that does not mean it is wrong; I am not an expert in the different types of meditation).
I have noticed people on this thread talking about needing to be in a relaxed state of mind in order to meditated. This is almost the reverse of meditation. Meditation is a heightened state of awareness; it is being able to separate yourself from your mind and simply notice the thoughts that flow through you without judgment. It is not meant to be relaxing (although it can be), it is not meant to give you instant inner peace. It is not about emptying your mind of thoughts, it is not about some form of relaxation.
Note: I didn’t read all the above threads so apologies if I am incorrect in my assumptions regarding others viewpoints.

This is not factual knowledge just my personal interpretation of how meditation works, or at least the spiritual/religious kind Lshak engages in. Does it not function on a similar process to a deprivation/flotation tank?
The brain in constantly processing information fed to it by the senses from the outside world, if however you remove this sensory input the brain does not cease its operations. It will focus more in detail on what is available to process and without outside disturbance this would be your thoughts, whatever they may be. If you’re entering a meditative state with the hopes of seeing/communicating with some kind of deity and if you are successful in blocking out any outside interference you will likely achieve your goal. I believe this to be so as the brain will try and simulate the sensory input it is usually given via your thoughts, conscious or subconscious, this can result in the summoning of voices or images that you desired.
