Just seen notice that methipropamine/MPA, a research chemical related to methamphetamine will be banned in the UK this Friday. Have seen no reports of this causing the problems that the phenidates were causing but anyway, the ban is imminent.
that is really short notice in comparison with other substances 🙁 – this govt seems dead set on making our country as bad as it was during the Reformation ffs…
Unfortunately although there have been few negative reports directly quoting the use of this particular chemical when sold in plain unbranded packaging (it is difficult and painful to inject for one thing) I suspect that its use by less educated people as part of “branded blends” combined with other substances and alcohol has led to a fair few problems (the ones which cause the “scare stories” in the media).
I am aware of paramedics in areas where there are lots of young people, late night clubs/pubs and a thriving NPS trade from retail outlets experiencing a larger number of callouts to “intoxicated persons” but those who are not necessarily showing the symptoms of alcohol use alone; have not taken “illegal drugs” but have sampled some “random powder sold in a pretty coloured packet”.
