Lets hope they don’t do something gumb as they did with the NTLM hashing system that they used on windows XP where passwords of up to 14 characters could be cracked in under 5 minutes using rainbow tables. That shouldn’t have been possible but some genius at Microsoft decided to split passwords into 2 chunks with max 7 characters per chunk before hashing them meaning you have 2 hashes to crack but both correspond to very easy to crack passwords (plus they did spome other dumb shit).
