sort of agree, but if its survival you are concerned about, I (suprisingly) don’t think the outlook is that bleak for people living in a rich country like Great Britain.
I expect there will be economic/political turmoil and a subsequent escalation in global warfare very soon (certainly before we are middle aged) but I no longer fear the 1980s style nuclear annihilation that we worried about in our teens. I think we will see a return to the sort of society after World War II which was more austere and self-sufficient though. The future is survivable, but may not be particularly elegant.
