The point of Chindōgu was to create inventions to make everyday life that little bit easier and more ball-ache free, but, as with most things it wasn’t the case, many of the inventions to ‘ease ones life’ worked on a basis of if your not very bright, then this shit will probably maim you in a rather unfunny way…..4 story washing line/clothes horses attached to Toyota Hi-Lux’s anyone? One issue found with this ‘invention’ was that if fully loads with your soggy undercrackers, it would restrict your visibility to a letterbox sized area. Not very good in downtown Tokyo :laugh_at:
But on the other hand, I have a sneaky suspicion that one or more inventions from the Chindōgu archives, could, given some money and, well, SMART PEOPLE, they could work (sort of). (ok, 90% as utter shite, but that 10% will have some crackers I’m sure).
My personal favourite was the wash and go automatic hair washing machine, my memory is pretty shady of it; It basically entails a fuckin massive plastic vat, that sits on you head and washes your hair for you, give you (the female) no shitty excuse for not going to the cinema with Keith to see some sloppy bollocks film. What I never got was, when the thing was done washing your hair, where the fuck did you put the excess water, how was it powered, why did it only come in that horrid green colour 1970’s bathrooms are? you know the colour I mean, your granny or granpa’s bathroom is probably still decked out in it.
