Hi Liam,
How much are you doing the 3-way 4piece systems for?
I know a friend who might be interested in using them as a monitoring set up.
you mean the QLS-151, ie the one on the left? give me a few mins, i will see what i can work out.
i reckon i can probably do it at £2199. i will have to confirm it with dB Technologies though… let me know if he’s interested
Liam
Do you do Mackie stuff?
I would be interested in a quote for:
2xSWH 1801
2xSWH 1501
2xSA1530
2xSA1532
Cheers
Dan
hi dan, afraid not.. well, not directly anyway. we can get them, but i cant promise great prices, as it is through a supplier. i looked into a direct account, but mackie took ages to respond and i had to chase them up twice before i even got to speak to anyone vaguely useful.
i was also put off when someone i know went through about 5 swa1501 subs in a row, and is as far as i know STILL having problems. apparently the amps were dying and the cabinet itself actually cracked in a few cases.
but yeah after that i basically decided sod that. i can get the prices anyway if you like, but if you are looking at spending that kind of money, then id say go rcf. tons better. if you like, i’ll work out some rcf prices too, for the same kind of equipment.
Hi Liam
I would be interested to see an RCF version priced up.
Looking for three way tops, and a mix of 15 and 18 bass.
Cheers
Dan
you thinking of starting up again Dan?
No mate – just fed up with having a big pile of passive kit in my garage…
Was just thinking of getting 4 2-way active plastic boxes, but then figured I’d rather have the best gear I can afford.
Once I’ve sold the big 18s and all that stuff, I know I’d cry without any gear , so thought the best thing to do was get something which is:
a) easy to store
b) easy to hire out
c) rugged enough to not look stupid if I ever come underground again
d) easy to PAT test (active box + 1 lead, as opposed to all those amps/iecs/etc)
I still do about 6-8 hire outs a year, usually two or four tops, and occasionally with bins. Plus, I am planning a licensed venue OOOPS! show once a year from now on….
So, sort of, but not really!!!!
D
fair enough, makes sense to have a bit of kit put aside and to do it when you have the chance..
I came that close to joining up with a few people and maybe setting up a rig couple of years ago but the increased clampdowns etc put me off; too much risks, too much stress…
yeah, about that last bin, will try n get it asap. hopefully this weekend.
if you’d be happy to drop it off tho, i will be more than happy to cover petrol costs. ill be away during next week but will be back on friday, im doin a drivin course so will get it myself!
strange how my mates reckon they’d be happy to drive for hours to a decent location once we get our shit together, when they cant even be arsed to drive for 30 minutes:you_crazy it cost me an 8th to get someone to drive me last time
again, thanks v much for bein patient.
hi dan, sorry about the delay matey… im not in our usual spot so im not near our catalogs etc. however, i know the prices for the relevant rcf stuff off the top of my head anyway, so ill work out the prices and options and get back to ya.
you got an email address that i can get you on? would make stuff a bit easier 🙂
the gear you’ll be looking at (ie. the rcf 4pro range) is great for hiring… we’ve sold quite a few different cabinets specifically to hire companies, so there you go 🙂 i find their gear far better than the mackie stuff… the last sale of the 4pro range was someone that was actually upgrading from mackie sa1530s to rcf 4pro 4001a’s.
the structure and design of the rcf range is a bit more sensible than the mackies though, so the equivalent will be slightly different. what i’ve always found with mackies sa gear is a kind of “regular speaker, bigger speaker, even bigger speaker” sort of setup, where the rcf’s are more of a “top speaker, full range floor standing speaker, high output top speaker, long throw top/mid bass speakers”… if that makes sense.
anyways, leave me your email address and ill see what i can sort out for ya.
