There are a lot of “tips” and “do’s and don’ts” for EDM culture, but the one below (published on reddit by redditor dropEleven) has got to be the most accurate we can find.
It comes complete with breakdowns on what progressive house music really is, what gloving means to the scene, and more importantly, what David Guetta means to the scene.
So if you’re just getting into EDM, here are some important tips from a vet.

Brilliant.
I really dislike the smug ‘I dont need drugs to enjoy raving’ (Im looking at you deadmouse).
Theres a lot of things in life you dont need, but that doesnt mean you shouldnt do them.
Im pretty sure the rave scene wouldnt exist without drugs in the first place. Not many people have the ability to stay up and dance for six hours without getting completely cream- crackered.
Also every generation has people who hold the belief that things ‘used to be better’ Seems to me unlikely that music has progressively got worse and worse every single decade since the early 1900s .
I really dislike deadmouse/deadmu5/deadmoose or what the train wreck looking prat calls himself, he’s released like 2-3 tracks I think are half decent for mixing, Guys like Petter and Nathan Fake are faaaaaaar superior to ex-moose.
But yeah, I enjoi’d reading this, it made my giggle.
