Pretty much, I feel community spirit at these parties and people seem to look out for each other. If someone started any beef on sat/sun honestly they’d have had to deal with a good 40 people in their face…. that’s just from the group of people i mainly chilled with in the chillout room…. not taking into consideration how it would’ve gone down in the main rooms.

The only ‘scetchy report’ I heard were from girls saying there where a lot of guys taking advantage of the ball pit by groping unwilling girls. I don’t want to say ‘physical assault’ but groping people without their permission…well that counts as sexual assault.

thats a shame, given the otherwise high standard or production and safety (and that the event is a interesting and welcome mix of genres). Looking at this and others I strongly suspect they are in fact licensed (probably via TENS) so why not do it properly, put aside “plastic anarchist” thinking and get enough security operatives (and maybe liaison with local charity groups against sexual assault) where they are needed, like how the townie clubs do it these days?
I know a lot of the DJ’s of shindig from a few years back and I’ve got respect for them. And if I lived nearer London (or they brought the event nearer the East) I would be more likely to attend that than a pure psy-trance event. However the hardstyle crowd does bring a slightly younger, more aggressive crowd and attitudes (not just here, I notice it when I read the NL forums and websites), I remember that well from my days organising events.
one of the funniest ones was when we did a party with a well known SE England hardstyle-based free party crew and the copper out of Traffic wars turned up and ended up having quite a friendly discussion to be fair about gary boy culture and its risk to everyone from DUI, crashes etc. I can see now why he ended up on telly and to be fair was glad he did as for a copper he was sound..
Bah, my fucking housemates have decided that they are going to have a massive party at my house for NYE despite the fact that I have to be at work at 8:00am the next day! 🙁
They have offered to put me up in a hotel but that sounds like a hell of a lot of grief and would be very expensive what with NYE rates for hotel.
I counter suggested that they buy me a card of Xanax and half a g of charlie and I’ll just stay home.

As for age well…from personal experience iv found that the ‘mouthbreathers’ are predominantly older men.
For NYE I really fancy a hardtek/ ragga jungle night but needs to have a decent size crowd there! starting to get a little bored of the same venues i swear when im tripping its never to crazy because i know the places like my own house. Anyone know of any happening even if its just a fat free party!

this is true but the event organisers of other nations prepare accordingly. it isn’t perfect, I’ve seen a fair few youtubes of trouble kicking off at hardstyle and hardtek events in NL but the security guards deal with it with minimum disruption (even when its sometimes gangs of youths fighting amongst racial lines) and remove the combatants and eject them before they can do each other too much damage – where they get handed over to the police on the outside. They don’t get particularly harsh punishments (usually only the equivalent of a caution) – the main punishment is being shamed in front of everyone else and losing out on the rest of the party by sitting in a police cell.
As English social attitudes only changed in the 1980s this isn’t surprising but there is now a core of increasingly aggressive young males throughout Europe, who cause problems at all large social events, as well as the residue of 40-something footy hooligans etc. they managed even to cause a stampede at Steve Aoki’s event at Halloween at Spain’s equivalent of O2 arena, and 4 people were crushed to death.
Though in England most older men with decent careers (and on many occasions families) no longer go clubbing so its only the scum left in town. In many areas a single man on his own is viewed suspiciously at any social event here.

I was amazed it happened TBH but clearly times and attitudes have changed recently. Chrispydelics solution seems way better as he will have just enough energy to socialise for a couple of hours and then can go to bed and be up for work in time the next day.
