  • Although I havent seen it myself I have seen many photos of children and even babies out outdoor parties. (hakuna mutata and such)
The only outdoor freeparties i have been to are pretty small gatherings but plenty of parents take children to the bigger hippy events.
Not sure what to make of it really.

I will be more than happy to pay £20 for boogie woogie. The ammount of effort going into that night and the deco/visuals will be out of this world trust me 😉

And to be honest, you dont really spend much once your in (assuming you take stuff with you)…..you get charged a score to go to your local pub on nye lol.

I agree with StealthyRacoon ive been to one of shindigs smaller events and i think its the drum and bass / dubstep that attracts the underage kids…….I really couldnt give 2 shits what they do with theyre lifes but it is fucking disgraceful seeing 14-16 year olds buzzing off they’re tits asking everyone for free drugs…..sometimes im just jelous cos they are buzzing more than me!

This is the main convo from underage partygoers…

    Whats your name?
    what you on?
    Can i have some?
    Goodbye.

    LOL

Dodgy…plenty of mouth breathers out there to take advantage of k’d up younguns. Its nice to think parties have tjis friendly trusting crowd but you have to be realistic sometimes.

that was the main convo from adult partygoers for much of the 90s :laugh_at:

TBH most of the shindig events are TENS ones these days (even if previous ones might have been unlicensed). I’ve looked into it and though its a good party and a lot of the DJ’s there are old friends of mine from back in the day, it clearly appears to be the latest incarnation of middle class young people from SE England who are given a bit of leeway by the feds provided they don’t totally take the piss. I know because I was one of them myself a few years back 😉

I do share the concerns folk have over young teenagers / adults safety, and that it could impact the scene as its precisely why its hard to get events licensed in Suffolk. The cops here are mostly ex-Metpol and many transferred here because they want to genuinely create a safer environment for the community. the ones my age now have teenage sons and daughters and want to keep them and their friends safe, and they’ve dealt at the frontline with the aftermath of what happens when nightlife goes bad.

Already metpol are planning to close down some pubs and clubs in London using licensing laws because there have been so many rape/sexual assault reports directly associated with these venues and the victims are grown women around their 20s.

I don’t think its even a case of age restrictions but making sure everyone of any age is safe and looked after. Both attackers and victims can be of any age. There are already “age restrictions” on UK nightlife anyway enforced by the punters, many judge anyone over 30 as a potential “dirty old man/woman” (bizzarely unless they are a DJ or something to do with the production) – older blokes are judged as nonces chasing after young girls, older women still going clubbing are seen as slutty.

In Ipswich a 17 year old lad raped a 50 year old woman after clubbing – thankfully he got caught due to good CCTV and forensics and sent to prison. This week the feds put out their warning campaign to both genders to look out for themselves over the “festive” period. BTW today there is no difference between “townie” clubs and “underground” clubs as far as cops and other authorities are concerned, dubstep and mephedrone has closed the gap between them.

my mate did this (his 5/6 year old son) and nearly lost his custody rights, his ex went apeshit and called social services on him :hopeless:

Personally parties are my ‘adult time’ where I can relax and not worry.
Looking after kids is hard fucking graft. They insist on running as far away from you as possible and have a habit of picking small colourful objects from the floor and eating them.

Yeah there was a few kids at hakuna matata running around flying little kites…..I think they only came for an hour or so and then left. I still disagree with introducing your 3 year old kid to that screne….basically everyone in the forest out of theyre nut oh and there was a naked man sitting up a tree out of his nut lol.

There was an outdoor rave near Acton and this teen was trying to be clever and took 4 acid tabs and .5 mandy for his first time giving it the biggun. couple of hours later he was scratching at his eyes begging his mates to kill him…..few of my mates literally sat on him for a couple hours untill he calmed down.

Was that the art of psy in summer? If so I was there. Long ass bus ride to location but was still a good ‘un. I even faintly remember seeing some people trying to calm down this teen who was having a bad one, but actually its probarly a commen occurance.

See I quite like to see parents their with young kids during the daytime, just enjoying the vibes. The kids dont know its illegal or drugs are being taken so long as they are below a certain age. My parents would take me to notting hill/special camping trips in wales with thier friends at a certain time of the year when I was young and I never sussed (not the same as a hakuna matata, but you get the idea)

Yup that was the one, was along a river (been to a couple there). The rig kept going really low all night was well annoying.

Have been to a couple of Art Of Psy events and have all been close to shit. (Late party line info, rigs cutting out, deco shit….) Its all about Hakuna Matata/Freaky Hz/Boogie woogie….All the same group just diferent names….The moment you walk into theyre partys you can see it is put together by people who are not just in it to make a quick pound note, pure psychedlic lovers.

Cant wait for the summer to start again, I miss raving outdoors…just cant beat it.

TBH if the event is well organised and parents are responsible there is negligible risk to children below age 10. Even at fairly sketchy places like squats or bad urban estates, most peoples natural instinct, even if they are not parents themselves on seeing a small child is to ensure that it is safe and protected. I really don’t think anyone with the level of hate to want to abduct or harm a small child would even bother to go to a rave type event – if they want to prey on “druggies kids” they are more likely to try and infiltrate a “do gooder” charity or community organisation to carry out their acts.

Where the danger does exist is more to those from age 11-15, who might look like (and try to behave) older than they actually are and then there is real danger of them being introduced to hard drugs or being a target of inappropriate sexual advances. and that applies to all social events (even those intended specifically for that age group) – not just raves or more controversial ones.

I go to a lot of parties where the parents take their little uns,

As long as the parents (one avaliable – Emotionally and physically) aren’t wonky it is fine
But I really struggle when the parents are both fucked up, and the kids end up as ‘do as you likey’ kids, not good

I also know a lot of patents who either take turns or have great ‘grand parents’ who have em all weekend and they both can sensibly get wonked and enjoy themselves with no responsibility

As even though I might not know them I end up feeling responsible and look after the kids if the patents are fucked as I struggle to see it
