  • first free party i’ve been to in years ,took some mates down with me we all had a well fat night:horay: loads of freindly people,no trouble even the pigs seemed to have a good time!!:bounce_o: :bounce_m: :bounce_o: :bounce_m:

(one girl was being dragged down by her bf didnt look at all happy, loads of rudes and the normal dirty ravin crew,

I think this was me and my GF…. My first ‘free party’, I have been waiting to go to a London event for a while so I was ready for this one! We was very drunk and she cant handle it when its hardcore like that, but i’m like “don’t you think thats fu**ing amasing, people dancing on the beach.” only got an hour or so in the end, i can’t send her home on her todd. I’m well up for more of the like… Party People are wicked, Girl in a Dog suit, quality!! Leave her at home next time.

i only know of No fixed abode & hub doin them (search on google for their events list), ive heard of others going on monthly but ive no idea whos been putin them on

Events are either on HDFK site (breakcore) or Dontstayin (trance, hardstyle , hard house)

Festival Pier has been around for years (since the 1950s?) – the sand was put there by the council for the benefit of working class families who couldn’t afford the train fare to places like Margate or Southend. Its mentioned in a book about the history of the Thames I have at home – I’ll see if I can find the info about it this evening.

I think a number of different crews are putting on these events; although I’d make the most of it whilst you can.

They are semi-legal inasmuch that L.B Lambeth may have the overall license for the festival pier area; although the area itself may come under jurisdiction of the Port of London authority.

In other words they are only tolerated because no ones worked out yet how to stop these events; and the more pragmatic people in authority may have realised that its better these events happen relatively out in the open where there is access for the blue lights, and are time-limited by the incoming tide which prevents excessive noise nuisance!

One plus point of the area being in full public view is that robbers etc are less likely to attack as there is probably CCTV watching the whole area as well

Provided no one accidentally drowns, catches Weils disease or is robbed and dumped in the river; there should not be any major problems.

That said like with any public area (Ridgeway, Thetford Forest etc) if too many crews rinse the place events there won’t be tolerated for long.

well it should be a bit warmer…

but not such a good plan though if its just after a thunderstorm as Thames Water discharge untreated sewage directly into the tidal Thames when the storm drains overflow…

        http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,3604,1377306,00.html

keep an eye on the local news – there are 5 sewage pumping stations between Teddington lock and the North Sea estuary.

Thames Water do try and warn people via the media when they are putting loads in but apparently about 33 olympic size swimming pools of raw sewage goes in to the Thames every year…

yeah was an amazing party last week – they played alot of random stuff like Big Daddy Kane “RAW” and stuff like that….was blinding! would imagine that the next one will be mid month tide allowing :O) keep a look out on urban75 i reckon………..i did lots of dancing around and general staggering about with a bag of Red Stripe chatting to everyone….nicest vibe ive seen for ages….not a scally in sight…..

New poster here, but been checking the site now and then for a little while. – hello to all!

Sounds like this party went down a treat. As these events are “legal” im sure the organisers wont mind me mentioning that you can hear some psytrance there weekend after this.

        Hope to see people there!

sweet:groucho: although i wont be attending, already busy, do u know who’s puttin it on???
