Nearly all the (smarter) commenters on that pill report are Dutch (and even they are worried not so much of fatal overdoses but that people will quickly get a tolerance and/or have bad comedowns, psychological dependence and other problems). I read a few Dutch forums and can now tell from the banter there and also from monitoring “kattekwaad” (small crime) on 112-news websites when everyone is going through Monday or Tuesday comedowns, not much gezelligheid sometimes 😉

Some other people commenting from other nations are not so smart, and are giving away more info of what they are up to than they should.

Dutch fed are smart too, I’ve just read two IT security papers (one in English, the other in Dutch) about how they monitor the internet anonymously (basically they’ve got this agreement with all the ISPs to have special networks so can turn up on here or partyflock or anywhere else just looking like a normal Dutch user). Some local cops are saying “kids are not on the street any more, they are spending a lot of time online and we need to patrol that as well”. One article also mentioned a number of US FBI officers operating in the Netherlands. Even compared to UK NL is not really a hotbed of international political tension or Islamic terrorism (a few disaffected Moroccans behaving aggressively on a street corner is not al-quaeda, more likely they too are on a shitty comedown) so I think they are looking into other potential crimes especially hacking and small scale drug dealing…

It is. I was a also fairly amused to see the partyflock logo also being used as a press logo for some months, but this has now been stopped.

Partyflock.nl is a big forum / social network which I would say is the Dutch equivalent of donstayin.com but way better (if you understand Dutch). Even if you don’t its still often a good place to find out where events are happening in NL.

It was originally set up as some young lads University project to gather data on the rave scene (they even gave him a few Euros towards the hosting) but is now funded by the event promoters.

So I did feel a bit sorry for their mods / admins, as surely “oom agent” [1] will become suspicious and they would all have to distance themselves from whoever was making the pills (perhaps why the brand was stopped, though the flocks were also being faked in UK with methylone in them instead).

Thankfully our logo is a generic vbulletin smiley and even the badger was originally nicked from psy-forum!

[1] literally Uncle Policeman or anyone older in authority, a bit like a Dutch reworking of the English term “Dutch uncle”. These chaps are very tenacious in painstakingly unearthing info (the banjo-playing former Communications Ministry officer Bé Muller is a good example). They tend not to do the gung ho heavy stuff immediately either, they spend months getting their info and then will turn up with 10 other cops, who are all near 2m tall and have pistols. so folk tend to obey them.
