  • I used to buy loads of vinyl every week house to acid techno was my thing to play out at free parties, nothing like dropping a new tune on a warehouse full of mutters, well there wasn’t until the majority started taking horse tranquilisers and crawling around on the floor unable to speak. I gave up in the end. Is it fair to say that Regretamine ruined the party scene? also when it comes to drugs and music is dubstep and now glitch the music born of the k generation? things were so much happier in my opinion before cheap ketamine took over. discuss!

No need to discuss from my point of wiev. I totally agree.
Drugs have ruined and will continue ruining lot of good things

I’m obviously biased against k on this one because I remember better times where the party vibe glowed and the music flowed. agreed now and then you can still find this but in my experience it’s now few and far between and parties have a darker aura.

As a young gun, I’m 26, I have to disagree.

Okay, so I’m too young really to have been involved in the party scene as it was being born or at least really took off, late 80’s-90’s. The ecstasy era is what I’m assuming you’re referring to as the party scene’s hay day.

The problem is not Ketamine, it is the people taking it largely being irresponsible. I love a bit of K when having a boogie; but I’m aware of how much to take to get a bit of a wonk on and still move about relatively unhindered. It goes wonderfully with mdma if you take just a bit, adds a layer of magical wonderment to that already awesome feeling mdma provides. I can be out and about on Ket without it being obvious. But unfortunately most youngsters my sort of age tend to just go hell for leather on the stuff whenever they touch it, kind of like how binge drinking is so problematic; people just don’t know how to regulate themselves.

While yes some music is certainly inspired by/aimed at ketamine users, this is how music evolves and keeps moving forward. The makers of music try to create the sound their listeners want to hear, something will come along to replace ket soon enough. And when that does happen music again will change along with the crowd that follow it.

fair, and yes I refer to the early days. It’s a nostalgia post I guess.

I was given something called pixie dust once! it was powdered disco acid, mixed with a bit of k and mama and was a whole lot of fun., when k hit the dance floors 15 years ago it was a legless mess.

As far as I understand it, pixy dust is acid dripped into liquid K then cooked up.

      Disco acid?
