  • got myself the nokia 6300 the other day, got with it a bluetooth dongle by itech …

got it all installed eventually yet when flicking through the itech’s dongle manual found out they only tell you how to install it and not actually how to swap data between phone and pc.

i also checked the nokia 6300 booklet and there is nothing in there … im quite gutted because frankly ive got videos and photos that id love shared between the two.

(the bluetooth dongle comes with the phone so isnt a random one from another shop)

so if anyone could help me out maybe they have the phone and the dongle or even know a website which helps you itd be greatly appreciated

    thanks all 🙂

(this new forum is great :weee: )

have you installed the Nokia PC Suite (or whatever it is called these days) software that came with the phone? If you have lost your original disk it may be on the Nokia website for download..

i had forgotten about the nokia disc, pushed aside in the excitement of getting a new phone i believe …

    just installing now,

i havent got a data cable, just this dongle so im hoping itll go through the pc suite …

cheers GL, will report back 🙂

it should work but you will have to select “bluetooth” in the connection methods, pair the two devices and select a common PIN so they can connect

    and it works,

    cheers GL 🙂

Should work mate, i sometimes use a bluetooth dongle with my Motorola and Motorola phone tools.

Ah actually i think its a blue tooth dongle my rents use on their nokia N91’s or what ever nokias they have.

[edit] Ignore me post as i missed yours mate :you_crazy

is ”dongle” a real technical term or one you made up, cos i like it

nah, its a real technical term and has been in use for over 25 years….

It started off as something to protect software (so it could only be run on one computer) but now is used for a variety of electronic devices that plug into a communications socket on a computer and protrude from it..

well you learn something new everyday!
