the sorts of flora and fauna you get in the forests (including all fungi) are mostly identical in UK, NL, DE, DK and other European countries with a similar climate. (there were a lot of Dutch scientists round here last week exploring Dunwich and Thetford Forests).

Whether or not hippie-shaggy got any liberty caps, fair play to him for taking the trouble to share all the photos of the lookalikes and not just munch the random shrooms and end up with a dodgy tummy or worse…

i read there’s much more chance of getting poisoned picking in the woods… stick to fertile grass like that sheep graze or something (apparently)

Well, some people think magic mushrooms look like fly agaric – that can give you trips but isn’t recommended for beginners. Can be toxic AND give you a trip.

Just so long as you avoid Destroying Angel or “Deathcap” (very unpleasant, can kill you in slow agony) you should survive.

The one you are referring to is one that I dried the day before I took the pictures of the others.

Ah – quick dry in oven. Effective. Have to be careful not to over cook them though – Psilocybin breaks down into other chemicals above a certain temperature…

… oh, it’s not that low a temperature, it just melts between 185 and 288 degress Centigrade. I thought psilocybin was more fragile than that…

I have more pictures and closer up of the ones second from the bottom if that would help. I have not tried to do anything with them yet. i’m still waiting. Being cautious. Never can be too careful.

I actually fan dried them on napkins during the day and overnight. I’m supprised how quickly they dried.
