when one of his victims swallows their pride and talks to the Police? I know its not cool to do this but in reality these idiots are getting away with it as no one else is willing to stand up to them, even simply to make it clear they are not welcome anywhere else. They fucked up your party, they still have their friends because they don’t look like thugs TBH or fit stereotypes (especially being white and middle class) and unless real authority stops them they get away with bullying people.
For all the naming and shaming you yourself have said that they are still being tolerated at parties, even if they are getting in under false names. This is how the London scene got fucked up and now they need to pay hard men to do security for each party, the hard men take most of the money and the parties have only become slightly safer.
I am unsure if DIY justice works here in the long run because everyone here is stubborn and fights back and you end up with feuds with escalating violence lasting years and across generations (I only live 26 miles away from BSE, and know folk in the villages around there and the rare old things they get up to!)
I don’t think much of townie nightlife at all but at least in that case they’d get barred from everywhere the moment they were on CCTV, and had probably got a wake up call at 6am from armed police for discharging air rifles at people. I do certain security related jobs for work (mostly IT security and physical security of remotely sited equipment) and I get emails from the crime prevention. One very recent one pointed out that Suffolk Constabulary are very interested in putting a stop to a emerging culture of street robbery and wannabe gangster behaviour, and they have the resources to do so.
Worse still (or worser and worser) when the cops read all the FB pages and also here and on SJ (which we all know they do). they get the idea that violence is now commonplace amongst folk at unlicensed music events they will have instant justification to close them down on crime prevention/health and safety grounds. Already in Bedfordshire (where there has been a running battle between various gangs of alleged “pikeys”) the cops point out the risk of violence in their press releases, because they have had to attend as part of standard procedures used to keep Ambulance units safe when they go into crowds who have taken drugs or alcohol.
At the same time they don’t have enough evidence or statements to go and arrest the troublemakers, which means they win as they can always fight but you lose out on chances to party.
