yep I heard about that.. its a shame but there have been so many party buildings across the UK what get totally smashed up during the party the feds now feel they have to protect them…

and just because a place is boarded up doesn’t mean someone doesn’t own it and round here its often local families rather than some faceless property company in London..

realistically the only things anyone is going to get away with now is people inviting friends to their own family’s farmland for genuine private parties (which you can still get away with even in Suffolk) or stuff like Unity Tribe…

this is the official Police press release. from previous incidents if the suspects are bailed to Magistrates they are liable to just get fines. If they are adjourned to Crown Court then get a good lawyer unless they want to end up doing time.

    17 January 2011

Seven people have been arrested during a police operation to close down an unlicensed music event in the Norfolk countryside.

Officers moved in on an area of forestland at Two Mile Bottom, Thetford, at around 11am on Saturday morning.

At the height of the event there were believed to be up to around 150 people in attendance.

A boarded up holiday home had been broken into and used by the organisers.

Officers had been closely monitoring the situation since around midnight actively turning away any further persons attempting to attend.

Sound equipment was subsequently seized and seven arrests made for offences including organising an unlicensed music event, possession of controlled drugs, burglary and theft. No complaints were made in relation to noise nuisance. The nearest dwelling was around half a mile away.

Superintendent Nick Davison said: “The Constabulary takes such incidents very seriously and will take action to deal with anyone intent on causing disruption and nuisance within our local communities.

“These events are unsafe and we will continue to prosecute and seize and destroy the equipment of anyone found to be involved.”

The following have been bailed pending further investigation.

    * A 20-year-old woman, from Bury St Edmunds, arrested on suspicion of being involved in the organisation of an unlicensed musical event.
    * A 19-year-old man, from St Neots, arrested on suspicion of burglary.
    * Two 21-year-old men, from Stowmarket and Bury, arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled drugs.
    * An 18-year-old from Great Yarmouth arrested at Wretham for driving whilst unfit through drink and drugs.

A 20-year-old male from Thetford arrested for possession of controlled drugs was charged to court for a breach of bail offence. A 19-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of theft received an official caution and a 16-year-old received a reprimand for possession of cannabis.

Response officers and road policing officers were involved in the operation.

t Maybe this is what fun has evolved into over years of police action at free partys. at least I assume it was FREE???

the feds aren’t to blame for buildings getting smashed up. there was a time not so long ago they used to leave well run free parties alone, especially round here. they let people get away with all sorts in Thames Valley area for about 10 years as well.

In recent times I’ve even seen licensed venues that people have hired, especially the toilets get trashed/deliberately contaminated :yakk:
