  • Some therapists overmedicate. Some therapists actually treat their patients.

I can think of plenty of examples of both cases. It really depends on one’s doctor. To say they are all immoral money grabbing cunts is disingenuous.

altho fair, that seems about as informative as saying ‘there is good and bad in the world’

Well yeah, because the world tends to be a bit more nuanced than “all people of group X are evil.” The world doesn’t work like American action films.

you are arbiter of the world? maybe you’re referring to another comment, but i haven’t said or suggested either of the things in your last 2 posts… and i don’t watch action films… unless its bond i guess

It wasn’t necessarily aimed specifically at your comments, just an expansion of the idea?

In Australia i knew plenty of 5 year olds who were doped up on ritalin or Dexies, and it was only after living in the u.k that i began to see how wrong they have it over there.

GIVING them drugs? Surely you mean selling?

i’m guessing a 5 yr old may not be doing the purchasing, unless they have good pocket money. but yeh, lol, selling

Psychiatrists who do a quick examination of their patient and throw drugs at them just for the sake of eliminating the problem are incredibly unprofessional. I feel like some of them do it so the patient will shut up and stop complaining or they do it to better themselves and their company. They don’t really reach the root of the problem to have a full understanding of the patient’s disease and they don’t end of giving them the accurate medicine, they give them a “close enough” drug because they can.

There are other psychiatrists who actually do their job well and investigate symptoms of a patient’s disease and invest time helping them so that they can do good for the patient and nobody else which is what really matters.

Just because things go wrong or don’t turn out the right way doesn’t mean it should be classified as a disease. Down the road there will probably be a diagnosis for not being able to tie your shoe correctly. Seriously? I feel like more and more people are complaining about something stupid to try to get drugs so they can just abuse them.

Hah! Any of YOU ever tried complaining about this to the Royal Colege of Psychiatric?

They were so “professional” they didn’t even send me a reply. To a registered post enquiry.
