Decision made then m8, carry on ! It’s not bad sound for the price, in fact I hope to be listening to PV radio on ours later this evening raaa …
Don’t forget to stuff a rag in the side bass horn too if it’s too bassy for you (i checked mine, it’s actually half an old tea towel not a sock !). I looked at the specs last night, the bass thingy is about 4 times more powerful than the side channels. In a typical room you just don’t need the volumes of air moving that that thing pumps out.
I can make it better with a rag? could you explain how, the big print beginners version? :weee:
This isn’t very scientific but I found that a lot of the excessive bass comes from the open horn on the side of the woofer cabinet. I toned it down by just crumpling up some cloth and stuffing it in the opening, to mute the sound a bit.
Mwuhaha! Ive got a Logitech z2300 :bounce_g:..
Anyway rather go for the Logitch z-4i or something sounded allot better to me when compared to the x530..

You will ruin the tuning of the port and probably destroy your speaker doing that.
If the port was better tuned I wouldn’t have to do it 🙂 It’s not wedged tight, I left the rag a bit loose to allow some air to move, and they’ve survived more than 3 years of bass-heavy techno so far …
Anyway, we’ve been listening to PV radio and downloads on the big stereo this last week instead of the Logitechs. What a difference, can hear the whole sound spectrum clearly at any volume we choose. Really must get a permanent connection to it sorted out – the laptop’s headphone socket works but isn’t really ideal :biggreen:
