  • I’ve got a fair bit of background knowledge on Ouija boards, They were not originally created by a games company, this is American arrogance at work here, They may of put a patent on it but Ouija boards have been around for hundreds of years. The basic concept of Ouija boards is planchette writing using numbers and letters as points, Where do you think the maker of the trademarked board got their idea from? They did not create it, they merely repackaged it and sold it as their own.

I wish I could understand how people can believe in stuff like this, if I said I believe in fairy’s or hear voices everyone would think I am mad. But claim that I can communicate with spirits though the use of a board game or have seen ghosts and some would think I am just an open minded chap.

And how do you know what reality truly is, Remember what we said Slim? Anything is possible. 😉

it was around before it was re-packaged by a games company, however it was never thought of in the spiritual/occoult sense, it was a cheap parlour trick/whimsy if you will, it was during ww1 that sum nut job decided to link it to the occult!

however having said that planchette writing has been linked with the “spirit/occoult world” in many sociaty’s for a very very very long time,

however planchette writing has now been sorted out by science! woop! good ol science!

Sorted out by science, How exactly?

The term was first used in a scientific paper discussing the means through which the Ouija board produced its results, by William Benjamin Carpenter in 1852, whence the alternative term Carpenter effect.[1] In the paper, Carpenter explained his theory that muscular movement can be independent of conscious desires or emotions.

Scientific tests by the English scientist Michael Faraday, the French chemist Michel Eugène Chevreul, and the American psychologists William James and Ray Hyman have demonstrated that many phenomena attributed to spiritual or paranormal forces, or to mysterious “energies,” are actually due to ideomotor action. Furthermore, these tests demonstrate that “honest, intelligent people can unconsciously engage in muscular activity that is consistent with their expectations”.[2] They also show that suggestions that can guide behavior can be given by subtle clues (Hyman 1977).

Some alternative medicine practitioners claim they can use the ideomotor effect to communicate with a patient’s unconsciousness using a system of physical signals (such as finger movements) for the unconscious mind to indicate “yes”, “no” or “I’m not ready to know that consciously”.

A simple experiment to demonstrate the Ideomotor effect is to allow a hand-held pendulum to hover over a sheet of paper. The paper has keywords such as YES, NO and MAYBE printed on it. Small movements in the hand, in response to questions, can cause the pendulum to move towards key words on the paper. This technique has been used for experiments in ESP, lie detection and ouija boards. This type of experiment was used by Kreskin[3] and has also been used by illusionists such as Derren Brown to test the hypnotic suggestibility of audience volunteers that are called onto the stage.

the above is an old gypsy trick wich ive pickled out many an unsuspecting raver with! it can work really really well but its all about suggestability

There is no such things as spirits communicating through a board game (the fact it dates back a while is neither here nor there). Its possible perhaps but the odds are so remote you might as well believe in pixie civilisation on the moon. As for reality I use the term loosely as you well know ;). Seriously man dont tell me you believe in this crap!?

Ah, taken straight from Wikipedia ;). Sorry mate, I don’t see that as the definitive proof that Ouija boards and planchette / automatic writing have been sorted out.

I do actually (having experienced overwhelming successes with said boards) but I really don’t see the point in explaining myself to you to be honest mate. You don’t believe in any of this so it would be like banging my head against a brick wall. :head_bang

yeah im in work and dont have time to formulate myself,

but the theroy is essentialy there, there are no spirits communicating through a board, tests have shown that this collective writing can be down to suggestabity of the unconcious mind,

i do believe that there are things greater than ourselves out there but i doubt these “things” will want to communicate with dave at 40 beaufort drive somewhere in slough on a friday night after everybody’s had a drink! har!

Oh I didn’t mean that comment to look as rude as that! Forgot to put the laughing face in there! Nah you believe what you believe in mate, we’re all different ain’t we. I just couldn’t be bothered to go into it all again ahaha. Try me on the weekend fella!

all i can say is i have never done an ouija board but i have been in a house where one has been done by a “satanist” and the “chain was broken” which apparently annoys the spirits and i can say that house has deffo something fucked up with it such as locked doors banging like mad and lots of other unexplainable shit im not going into but i beleive there can be evil spirits out there and dont mind what anybody else thinks as i wouldnt have beleived it myself 4 months ago but what has happenned in that time has signifigantly changed my views so people can beleive what they want and play away with ouija boards but all im saying is itl be one thing i will never ever do

My advice is dont mess with it !!!! play with some thing else !!! least you know your moving that poly 🙂

    regards
    Mungo

    what a load of bull

I love the battles from experience vs people who haven’t done it.

Don’t have a clue who to believe myself though to the people who think it’s rubbish go to some scary place and use one for the crack of it.
