  • I’ve just started doing pilates. Anyone else here do any?

There’s a heap of good videos from the same person here:

    blogilates – YouTube

I did it for a while when I slipped a disk in my back for rehabilitation. It’s really good for core strength, I do other excersizes for strengthening my core now though (things like stomach vacuuming – no this isn’t because I’ve got fluff in my belly button lol …).

I still do the odd Pilates move (tbh they are more yoga then Pilates, but it’s crosses over a fair bit at the beginner stages of yoga i think).

It’s early days but I’m really getting into it. Turns out my daughter has pilates classes in school too once a week which I think is really cool.

I’m looking at starting Yoga or T’ai chi ch’uan at some point, Mainly for my back, as its really not getting any better 😥

      Sorry to hear that 🙁
It’s a long and hard process

My danish friend sent me this the other day hahaha, he was like “I bet this is what you’re like when you go out…” I was like “yep pretty much.” haha

My fav bit is when he asks that girl “what is your favorite food?” and she replies “Pizza, but I’ve had a lot of Pizza, so I don’t really like it anymore.” rofl … cracks me up.

Will if you hit it hard enough.

those chaps could be any age between 16 and 60 (they often shave their heads so everyone is equally bald and it is thus also difficult to guess what age they are).

I noticed that the presenters on Dutch pirate radio stations (who would be their dads generation) speak equally fast, and even the older blokes on youtube videos about amateur radio speak like that , so either the whole lot of them are on drugs (some of the older lot were given benzedrine so they could focus better at work) or they just are particularly enthusiastic about their hobbies. probably a combination of the two 😉

it would not surprise me if the bulk of these events are somewhere around the border areas of NL and DE (there is a 2km exclusion zone each side as those areas are classed as flood plains – the Dutch also use the polders to bail out the North Sea using electric pumps. This works but must be noisy, so a rave is small potatoes in comparison.

It also seems that during the week the boys and girls are either at uni or work in the local companies designing or making useful products/doing brainy stuff with computers (like the kit that keeps the North Sea out, or the egg processing machine) so whatever they get up to at the weekend is just viewed as kattekwaad (cat mischief), and work is organised in shifts and there is a fair bit of annual leave to give time for hobbies.

But bear in mind Dutch cats are expected to behave well and obey the most senior female in a family house (and so is everyone else TBH).

I used to get loads of youtube cat videos from NL until the government privacy organisation put a stop to that level of tracking, and every other one seemed to be was a tall blonde woman teaching a cat to fetch items on command. and not just any random stuff, but things the rest of the household might mislay after a weekends partying, with larger breeds of cat like the Bengal or Siamese it the items included DECT telephone handsets :laugh_at:
