Accents are funny things like that mate, they creep up on you unnoticed!

Yeah, penguins don’t need their marketing people to release a ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja’ version of themselves just to look cool! Fkin turtles!

Oh god yeah. Turtles are such sell outs. Almost as bad as mice on motorbikes from Mars or sharks on rollerblades on the streets

that is how I would describe the right wing politicians and money minded idiots that infest public broadcasting today and suggest harebrained schemes like geoblocking a viewer from a friendly EU country.

the worst part is the engineers of EBU broadcasters hate all this. To them a broadcast is for the people, and if conditions mean some foreigners see it then fine. we tell the Chinese and other people outside Europe it is wrong to put up jamming transmitters to stop people seeing or hearing BBC or other “western” broadcasters on the airwaves and then stop friendly Europeans seeing it for commercial reasons…

Weird as fuck mate, just the other day I suddenly remembered Biker Mice from Mars! That show had escaped from my memory about 15 years ago and then sudenly reappeared in a flash and then you happen to mention it too, mental!

the pro version that works as a safe heaven cost money, the free one is more annoying than use full and have too many back door options so you wont be safe…you are traceable and in this time of copyright-hysteria I do not want my static IP polluted…

Great minds reminisce over the same childhood TV programmes.

Here’s a question for you Mr Grammatical Nazi Train; what’s the difference between a program and a progamme? I don’t know so i just select one at random each time I need to write it lol

Not sure mate, never heard of a progamme! I always class them as programs personally, I always thought the ‘me’ suffix was for when talking in past tense (programmed) or about someone who is a programmer. I may be wrong, it doesn’t happen often, but due to you changing the spelling of your username, I have been shown to be fallible!

There is a subtle difference. Look at the picture below. The screen on the left with the audio meters is a playout PC which emulates old style tape cartridges by playing out MP3 files through the soundcard into the mixing desk. if you look at the fader immediately left of the script tray (where the headphones are resting) you can see it is open. (I took this at some random time late at night when there aren’t any presenters and playout is on those digital carts).

So in the radio studio they are using a computer program to broadcast a radio programme…

Cheers GL, knew if anyone would be able to enlighten us on that, it’d be you. Nice one mate!

At one place I worked there was a time that the BBC would complain if you sent them documentation with incorrect grammar/spelling, I am not sure if they are so fussy these days…

They’re certainly not too fussy these days mate. The amount of times I see headlines on news 24 with mis-spelt words in them is quite staggering. At least when they get words wrong on the subtitles, it’s entertaining, like the other day in a report about Oscar Pistorius, they were talking about whether he’d put his prosthetic legs on, but the subtitles read as ‘pathetic legs’! Wrong, but funny!

at around €300 for your country’s TV license you should be able to watch as many penguins as you want in best quality 1080p HD on a BeoVision plasma screen without having to pay any more…

There are a lot of unpaid interns in the media today and especially with cases like that its probably one of those things where a blind eye is turned, especially when they are only just getting over the fact our public broadcaster was riddled through with creeps and nonces and many are only just being found out after they’ve had the chance to take them money and run…
