I expect he will only do so after his fame has diminished…
At the moment I expect he can go clubbing etc (could probably easily get in on guest lists etc) but it would be a suicide mission for him to go to an illegal rave..
he must be being constantly stalked by reporters; many of them would probably only covertly photograph him doing drugs and then grass him and the rave up to the cops….wasn’t it his own so-called friends who “outed” his drug use anyway?
he’d lose a fair bit of media work (although maybe not all) because of the damage to his image and a lot of friends if the party got busted because of it
haters would have a pop at him when he got separated from his friends – it would be paranoia central being at a rave, at least with clubs there are bouncers and cops in the vicinity to protect him..
Celebs actually have a harsh time on the street these days (why else do they need close protection services (i.e minders?). I’m always reading about the minor celebs (who presumably can’t or don’t want to deploy security) being beaten up on the streets or in clubs, often in their own neighbourhoods.
Recently TV presenter Richard Bacon had his nose broken in the bogs of a London pub, and one of the members of one of those girl bands was happy slapped in South London.
Fame has a heavy price…

IMHO i think that BB hasent really made him famous! I mean ok he won BB but jade goodys more famous than him and shes just dumB, so i guess that proves what sort of people the public like! The press have already printed pics of him snortin lines at a rave so people know his background. They ent dumb! Hear what ur sayin GL but i dont think it would really be that bad!
I agree BB won’t make him an A-list celebrity but its made him famous enough to attract the local haters, and the local journos who are themselves looking to get a bit of work off his back.
Haven’t seen any famous types at free parties but have seen a couple at raves pre 94. Bianca from eastenders & Kelly Brook were two of them. Not in the same place though. Bianca was off her nut.
raves were way more tolerated by the mainstream media circuit back then as they still thought they could commercialise it; (there was an upsurge in “yoof media” up to the mid 90s heavily influenced by raves) plus there were less digital cameras about (and maybe people were more ethical then!)
I think its not so much that minor celebs don’t want to go to raves (hell, even Dick and Dom are supposed to be trance fans!) but its a risk to their “brand image” due to the double standards over drug use – only those whose public image means can get away with it (such as the Dirty Sanchez chap) or aren’t wanting a long-term career (particularly in mainstream telly) can do it
I reckon half the celebs who get stiched up are actually turned in by “friends” who are envious and want their jobs TBH :hopeless:
In a downsized media world for young actors/presenters there is less work about and way more people competing for it – it doesn’t pay to take too many risks!
