I think someone in India must be making a fucking mint out of those!
they are just a reproduction of the (8)746 model which was the most common dial telephone used in recent times. These are still manufactured and used in India and some Commonwealth countries, even the models where there is no dial and a handle in the middle for a 90v magneto!
A lot of the more turbulent parts of the world use them for government comms, where they have manual/electromagnetic switching still preserved as this is more robust against electromagnetic pulses caused by atomic war or terrorism.
About £30-£40 is a fair price for a reconditioned one which has been cleaned up converted. I think the grey ones are still way cheaper as they are less popular and there were loads in offices.
