Out of curiosity was reading one of the other Dutch Trimbos campaigns – a somewhat surreal anti-smoking campaign directed at youths which amongst other things encourages them to faceswap with a cat instead of smoking cigarettes.
There is to be fair some logic to this; it is surely near impossible to hold a smartphone steady at the same time as smoking a cig and get the cat to remain in the right place. It is more likely the cat would just upset the ashtray and miauw loudly in protest; the youth will end up in trouble for unhealthy habits and nature unfriendly behaviour and have to clear up the peuken(cigarette-ends). so it is better to “make the cat wise” (a Dutch saying) when not smoking :laugh_at:
The web links go to nix18 (like a better version of talktofrank) where they have a few slightly more logical explanations of why teens should not smoke – one of them being that it costs a lot, although the first thing I thought on reading their explanation was just that €6,30 is way cheap for 19 cigarettes (the 19-packs seem to be Europe wide) compared to what they are in Blighty, but wasn’t 100% sure what this was in £ (just under £5)
