Just seen this on the news and it’s pretty fucked up! what a shitty sunday for those involved eh! :hopeless:
at least there was noone in the house
private aviation safety can be worryingly lax in this country (compared to passenger jets which are very safe)
any old boy what thinks he’s biggles and can afford it can learn to fly a plane, and although the medical tests are initially stringent there is no regular eyesight test, plus the onus is on the pilot to declare stuff –
there appear to be chaps flying aircraft old enough to be our great grandads and a lot of them are too proud/stubborn to give it up when their reactions start to slow..
Dunno if any of you have heard of Michael Bentine (a comedian from the 1950s-1990s, he’s dead now) but he was in the RAF and was a campaigner for better safety procedures as his son was killed in a similar incident in the 1970s..
this is a similar incident where I used to live. Happened in August 2005, and unsurprisingly scared the shit out of people until the real reasons were known..

all 5 crew+pax believed killed.
LFB deployed 8 x fire appliances 4 x urban search and rescue teams
London Ambulance deployed 4 ambulances, 4 x paramedic response cars and an area response team.
Some walking wounded amongst bystanders (mostly shock and panic) taken to hospital.
didn’t realise it was so near the capital (for one moment I thought “why all London units but its virtually SE London)
They reckon the people whose house was destroyed were on holiday. Depending how you look at it they’re very lucky, otherwise the death toll could of been higher.
fuck, i was in farnbrough 3 hours ago, crazy this is not far from me at all, however i was asleep when this happend
this is actually fucking shocking i could be at this plane crash in 10 minutes maby 20 in bad traffic
when I looked at where this place actually was (for some reason thought it was further out in the sticks) I did wonder if it was fairly near you..
yeah a mate of mine works in the hospital where they took the 2 people with “shock” crazy that somthing likle this can happen very fortunate nobody was in the house that got razed
They have named the people killed

really bad i follow touring cars aswell so thats quite a few race drivers in recent times that have been killed in aviation crashes
yeah this is realy bad .. saw it on the news … alltho 5 people died and no disrespect to them or their familys being so close to london it could of been a hell of a lot worce ..lucky the people were out in the house as well
farnborough is basically london, its a bit more of the commuter areas bit more middle class but tis not all jsut feilds n stuff, only 10 15 mintues out of bromley really its a pretty bad place to crash, i think all the fire engines were from orpington and bromley so shows how actually close it was to being london
Bet the folk in that house wish they had turned the landing lights off when they went on holiday now…..
:laugh_at: ..was wondering when the jokes would start rolling out for this ..thats actualy a really clever one .. was expecting something crappy from some one but it’s gonna be hard to top that 😉 infact im gonna tell it to all my m8’s :laugh_at:
bunch of bloody toffs who spew co2 into the air for a living anyway. dont like seeing folk die but…
yeah .. not nice thing to happen .. but a jokes a joke … not gonna change the fact that they died or make what happened worce by making a joke about it 😉
