Stupid kid, got what he deserved IMO. Fair play to the cop.
stupid kid yes, got wot he deserved no fuckin way!!
if it hadn’t been a cop it would be just happy slapping…
Although I don’t agree with a lot of things cops do he’s just defending himself.
People who randomly attack others in the street often start off by swearing at them – how does the cop know the other guy doesn’t have a concealed weapon?
As the cop wasn’t doing an search or arrest its no different IMO from targeting someone because of their race or appearance…
Also pisses me off at raves when crews are trying to negotiate with the cops and you get randoms saying “fucking pigs etc..”, hassling the cops and even throwing stuff (and people wonder why there is riot squad deployed to some raves..)

just saw this in the news in danish television..
Saying that FBI is investigating the police officers in the video..
from what i can tell the cop isnt defending himself, if that was the case surley the first strike wuda been enuff,as the guy was on the floor, the cop continued to hit him in the back as he was tryin to run away!!
they were stupid to think the cop wudnt hav reacted but imo it was a totall over reaction and a perfect example of a pig ona power trip finkin he’s above the law
Fair dos but if someone did tht to u in the street you’d probably want to beat the fuck out of them.
Looked to me more like he was smacking him on the arse as he ran away:laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at: – kinda hard to tell though.
Accent sounds like somewhere in California. Plenty guns about if that’s the case, and IMO the cop didn’t overreact at all. Somewhere with lots of guns – if someone gets out of a car with another guy still in the car, and starts hurling abuse at you – alarm bells should start ringing. Lot of places in the world the cop would pull a gun, not a baton, and both of them would have been looking down a barrel before being hauled off to the nick.
Would be interested to see what bruises etc the guy ended up with – as I said, the ones you can see at the end look more like smacking his arse. It looks to me like they aren’t designed to actually harm – having done stage fighting, and been a re-enactor, I’m fairly good at spotting the difference between show and malicious intent (the thighs and arse are useful spots for a stage fight btw – you can hit quite hard, and not hurt someone. Did a fight in a play once, where we worked in a thigh kick while the other actor was bending over on all fours, to make it look like I’d kicked him in the ribs. It never failed to get a gasp from the audience because I could kick him hard enough to move him across the stage without actually hurting him at all). Blows done with intent are usually less savage looking because they are much faster (like the first one). The ones that look savage are (contrary to logic) usually less dangerous.
I would guess he’s bruised to buggery across his collar bone, and maybe on his cheek (maybe even a broken collar bone from the first blow). As for the rest from what can be seen on the video – probably just a sore bum cheek or thigh…:laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at:and well deserved IMO.
If the cop had really intended to damage the guy, he wouldn’t have gotten up from the first hit and been able to run away.
And as GL says – it’s no different from targeting someone because of race, or appearance. Don’t think anyone would have issue with it if he’d chosen a black guy to hurl racist abuse at, and been leathered for it. Most people would have said it was deserved, and that he should have been kicked up and down the street for good measure.
And even if the cop did overreact, and has hurt the guy – the cop is only human too. Everybody has a snapping point (not an excuse for it, but having some tosser come up to you and hurl random abuse for no reason at all is certainly a mitigating factor IMO).
No real excuse for behaving like a f***wit though…:you_crazy:you_crazy:you_crazy. And you do get the feeling that the lesson has been learned – doubt he will randomly abuse anyone for the camera again…
u certainly sound like ya kno wot ya talkin about ! but at the end of the day (the sun goes down) he did only say fuk u n giv tha finga, i mean if we all battered shit outa every1 hu giv us ‘tude well it wudnt b a very nice place wud it. that guy as stupid or maybe shud say as niave as he WAS (cz he sure aint no more) was obviously shit scared !! the cops shud play by the rules theyre sposed to b settin an example of how to conduct urself in situations like that but he lost it, he def puts the boot in too! the first strike was plenty to stop the guy bein a threat the cop shuda jus slapped the cuffs on him n took him in.
hmm… its hardly rodney king is it? still, because everyone is a potential cameraperson (mobiles wi cameras), these days, the filth will have to be more discreet, when they are kickin the shit out of people for no good reason.
The guy was lucky he wasn’t in London, he might have took the piss out of SO19!:groucho:
Aye, but there’s a difference between the general everyday lary comments from a bunch of bored kids, and singleing someone out, and hurling abuse at them while sticking both hands with extended middle digit right in their face….
Just find it hard to have any sympathy for the kid after his display of totally moronic behaviour. And I doubt he was hurt, for all that it seems like he was being well and truly leathered. After all – if he had been, they wouldn’t have missed the opportunity to display the wounds at the end of the film surely?
Take your point that cops are supposed to be setting the example, and he shouldn’t have reacted the way he did. It’s not really police brutality though – as marcus says – it’s not like the Rodney King beating, where 4 cops surrounded the guy and beat crap out of him for no reason at all (other than his skin colour and the fact that the donut shop was shut for the day:hopeless:).
True, the cop would have looked better had he just nicked him, and then developed an inability to do paperwork for the rest of the day, but everybody loses their cool at some point. Like I say, not an excuse, but a mitigating factor at least. We should keep the stormtrooper and power tripper labels for the ones who really deserve it… As marcus says again – he was lucky he wasn’t in London, and not just for running into SO. The met as a whole don’t exactly have squeaky clean reps, and for fairly good reason mostly….
Can see the conversation between the arresting officers now:
“Take him back to the yard constable, and see he doesn’t trip on the stairs.”
“But we don’t have stairs sir…”
“No constable. I’ve told you this before. Stairs are a luxury item. We have to arrange them for our clients occasionally…”:weee::weee::weee:
The guy was lucky he wasn’t in London, he might have took the piss out of SO19!:groucho:
