POLICE ARE THE BIGGEST GANG IN THE WORLD!!!!!
tossers, every dog has thier day, karma’s guna bite them rite in the ass
They may be the biggest gang in the world, but simple fact is – we need them. Full stop. If you don’t believe me – go live somewhere like Afghanistan and see what it’s like somewhere with no police force…:ar15:
Trouble is, policemen are unwanted until they’re needed usually – and then, if they’re not instantly on the spot and performing miracles, people complain about them…. Or when they have a moment like this, people accuse them of brutality, and being storm troopers…
And they walk a dark path for the most part (one I certainly would not want to walk). Seeing day to day the worst humanity has to offer – the calls to deal with violence of one sort or another are probably the most common at any station in the country – must get to you eventually (think it was Terry Pratchett who said “nobody can drink alcohol like a watchman who’s seen civilisation with the skin stripped off once too often. It’s as much armour as his breastplate and helmet.”) The fact that most of them can do this, and still survive with their own humanity mostly intact is testament to their character IMO.
I know a few ex coppers, and save a certain black sense of humour, they’re good people (and certainly not people I expect karma will be biting in the ass any time soon). I’ve been nicked a couple of times too, and I usually have to deal with coppers when I’m at a party they get called to (I usually end up doing it, cos no one else wants to). Even when they’ve been nicking me, they’ve usually been people I have the time of day for.
The bad ones are relatively rare (I’ve met those too), but they will become an awful lot more common if every time something like this happens all policemen are getting labelled as wankers, and storm troopers – after all, one of the few reasons many of the good ones walk this path is because they believe the job they do is vital, and that the general public has respect for what they do. If this isn’t true, then the only ones left who will want to become coppers are the power trippers, who get off on being able to bully people. Then we really will be in trouble…
You say, hate doesn’t conquer hate – but hate doesn’t have to be physical… Calling all coppers wankers and tossers is hate too….The words are as damaging in many cases as the actions – they affect the way people think and are easier to let pass unremarked, and tacitly accepted….
Saying he’s had training, and so should be perfect, and not lose his cool in any situation is ridiculous too. It’s like the media fuelled savagery that results when a doctor, or surgeon makes the wrong decision in the heat of the moment – various papers baying for striking them off and jailing them etc, because they failed to notice one particular that resulted in problems for their patient (and usually litigation for their trust:hopeless:). YES – they made a mistake. YES – they had training to try and limit any mistakes. YES – it needs investigating. BUT – it’s easy to comment after the fact, and in the cold light of day. In the heat of the moment, people make mistakes (please step forward if you never have:wink:).
The copper reacted in the heat of the moment. The dumb kid planned it, and had plenty of time to stop and think “am I being a wanker?”
I’m definetly with Glo on this one – Karma has worked here already – the kid got what he deserved for being a tosser. If he’d been hurt, then I might have thought differently, but all he has are a few bruises (along with a healthy aversion to doing it again:laugh_at::laugh_at:). Had he actually been hurt, it would have been all over the news. No footage of his wounds in the video either. So all he really got was a spanking:laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at:. And well deserved it was too.
As for the copper – he’s being investigated by internal affairs (something he will not enjoy), so he will know he went a bit far, and will think next time (if there is one). I reckon they will come to the same conclusion though – nobody’s perfect – he overreacted, and he will get a slap on the wrist officially.
Let’s save the brutality label for where it’s deserved…
