Uhm why exactly do you mean by ‘They had a Mac linked up to a camera and some control dial thing (just a USB device) making all sorts of graphics based on the input from the camera.’
it was doing some real time image processing using the camera image. the USB dial changed some parts of the image, i.e adding extra video effects. It would of course be better to actually see the device in action but the dude was just testing out some ideas and hasn’t finished it.
