Hi all ,

AFOAF HATES psychiatric drugs , from AFOAFs friends personal experiences they totally fuk u up …not in AFOAF s case thankfully but …

Neuroleptic drugs can give u PERMANENT symptoms like body twitches …they make my friend look mad …

He is just a victim of horrible drug side effects …

OR they can also give u restless leg syndrome in bed ….ur legs will not stop moving ..

The friend of AFOAF says they give MORE DRUGS to stop the side effects but they do not work ….they just add MORE side effects ..mental and physical …

the friend of AFOAF says PSYCHIATRISTS are fukin bullies and that they are totally self autonomous …they are their own fukin bosses ..

Now that really is SCARY …

Has anybody else had bad experiences like the friend of AFOAF ..

MAYBE there are thousands of people out there with problems but they never get to tell anybody about it ….

Agreed about the drugs in lots of cases.

Completely disagree about psychiatrists though.

And some mediation can completely transform some peoples lives

different strokes for different folks, and different medication for different illnesses etc some work better on some people and some not so

…Yes, the older neuroleptics can cause EPSE’s but the newer medications cause lots less side effects and the older meds are being phased out AFAIK, but I think its pretty funny someone who (by the sounds of your posts) takes meth amphet on a pretty regular basis – which must have its own side effects that arnt too nice – lump’s every psychiatric drug together and write’s them off…..
isn’t that a little naive ?

thx 4 ur constructive comments , i am not naive because i have seen the truth …..

and i am soory i did not mean ALL psch drugs …

i have alot of ” crazy ” friends… they are great mates to me .

my friend says that psychiatrists seem to ALWAYS give v strong drugs to knock out the patient …..

I HAVE SEEN a guy doped out on anti psychotic drugs ?

and they said he is calm “now” he is better w/ o trying to find out WHY he may / may not have a mental health problem to start with .

did u know that electrical treatment fort depression renders some people into ZOMBIES …knocking out there short term memory ??

If u had a friend like me that was bullied and sectioned for STUPID reasons ……3 MONTHS LATER …she is on medication that 100 % will make him look MAD if he stops it .

Look into Tardive dyskinaesia side effects of psychiatric drugs ….if u see somebody in REAL LIFE suffering that problem ….u will not think shrinks are such great professionals ..

HOW stringent do u think psych drug testing is ?

In law psychs are self autonomous , legally there is no way to REDRESS past mistakes or mis diagnosises …is that fair ?

therapy v medication is a long long discussion , i just think that the law for sectioning and complaining about medication should be changed to give the patient more POWER TO COMPLAIN ABOUT WRONGNDOING …

My friend says that coming of chlorpromazine ( anti psychotic ) was the most horrible thing he ever had to do .Also that Droperidol gave him terrible restless leg syndrome .

Chlorpromazine, droperidol etc are all the old style anti psychs that are being phased out – I know about procyclidine etc, and yes as I said they have EPSE (extra pyramidal side effects)
I have seen tardive dyskinesia, I have seen oculogyric crisis, and I have seen neuroleptic malignant syndrome so please – I do have experience in this field, you are not talking to some one who doesnt know anything

I have also even seen ECT and I have seen it work really well too, I have friends who have had it too, and yes some of them had some short term memory loss, but they took in to account these side effects at the time – weighed it up and took the risk it might help them

And yes for some ECT has not worked at all and they have had terrible side effects –

these days mental health medicine and nursing has come along way from the 50’s and it is more geared to ‘talking therapies’ here in the UK, however it may be very different where you live and they may still use the older meds, so I do understand your consern
