that explains a lot of things (including why at the same time it seemed half of Dhaka was here posting the most bizzare spam; advertising anything from groceries to added quotes from the Koran etc, and it seemed to originate from 100 mobile phones all at once. Found this lot on BD Communications Ministry website, wasn’t sure what was going on but it became clear that its not something thats encouraged,even I wouldn’t try such a stunt…
I don’t know any Bengali but in Asian nations you can usually get away with all sorts of high tech experiments without ending up in handcuffs at least until they cause an unfair/unsafe situation. – looks like they were reselling the “telephone” bit of the circuit as “cheap business calls”) as well as hammering the local cell site with 30 circuits and backfeed them into the consumer broadband rather than connect it via a legit site to site link or use the GSM TA for one organisations use (that is OK, but what these guys are doing is not cricket. Hogs up everyone elses bandwidth and creates hotspots of unwanted radio interference. And to be fair the PTT / Communications Ministry and the legit mobile companies are genuinely trying to be socially concious compared even to Europe.
Even if Nigboat had wanted to post here from BD he would have been unlikely to get a decent connection because of what these chumps were up to., they’d also have to be on drugs to even think this was a good idea…
