  • i amnto sure if i post this on the right place, but i guess the event is politcally enough to be here.

free4later.org, former known as free4euroalernatives, chanaged mision for this year. the struggle against demolition of freespaces and against polcie brutality didn´t loose imortance to us, but for 2007 we put our priority on the g8, simply because we see a chance to move something for the location in the quiet middle/north of europe.
we believe that it is necessary and a bit of a duty that freeparty/freepsaces are represented at the g8. also we hope to mobilize people to come, which would have rather stayed at home.
our site is barely finished, lot of content is still missing, but we keep it daily updated and working on.
for the entire planing of this event we are working with the global network against the g8 via dissentnetwork and all the others which became a quiet genius mashup of different groups for one aim: SHUT DOWN THE G8 !!

we are going to build a tekcamp, a autonomous zone for people to share their resistant art and way of living, to be, to rest, to meet up etc.
this tekcamp is called resistance art festival, cause it will be build with our existing infra structure. one could call it teknival, but it wont be classically like this as we go contacted by so many different artists, so we can provide a multi-art-share-place !
i guess the call doesnt leave much questions open, if there are any, dont hesitate to contact us 🙂

    Free4alternatives
is an activists group coming from the Free Spaces scene (Free Party, Teknival, Squat, Trailer site, TAZ,…)fighting against liberty deprivations and standardization of masses for the right to alternatives and autonomy…
This time we want to mobilize our scene to come to the blockades and protests against the G8 2007 on the 2nd to 8th June in Heiligendamm (Rostock, Germany) by organizing a Free Artistic Space there:

Hello Artivists from all over the world!

Press said that the RAF might come back for G8, it’s true!! It’s the Resistance Art Festival tongue.gif

We plan to organize an artistic Temporary Autonomous Zone near Heiligendamm during the G8 summit in June from the 2nd (evening) till the end of the blockades. We are several tekno sound systems and demonstration organizers from all over Europe and we’ll bring our gigs to Heiligendamm, we are all used to create Free Autonomous Spaces…

Our aim are to offer people a place to rest and to find a new energy to go back to the barricades and to mobilize all the people that wouldn’t come without this event (don’t laugh it’s true, a lot of people would come if they can find also a festival there, it’s a reason more to come for them). Our message is in our art (music, video, juggling, painting,…) and we do intend to make noise to be heard! We want people coming back from the barricades to be able to find a place to free their minds and moods from all aggressiveness and to motivate them back with our art…

Moreover the 8 bastards will speak about the copyrights and the distribution networks of art (DRMs, licenses, peer2peer, copy protections,…) so we cannot let them do without showing that Free Art is a reality, that we can do autonomous spaces for free and offering even more than “just” art to the people, and that we refuse their standardization of art and their capitalist way of seeing art in general.. Our art is not to sell!!

We have our own hardware (speakers, amplifiers, trucks, videoprojectors,…) so any artist can come and we’ll be glad to accept any collaboration offered…
We are also in contacts with alternative artists from other scenes (rock, rap,…) and trying to arrange concerts too…

We asked for a place but still did not get any answers but even if they don’t give us a place we’ll take it, we are all used to that and ready to defend our camp… But honestly we don’t think they will give a fuck about people dancing when they will have thousands of people trying to break their fucking fence at the same time wink.gif
We have organized an illegal Teknival with 5000 people in Germany (Baden-Baden) last year (and several ones all over Europe), just after the demonstration we organized on the 15th April 2006 in Strasbourg in front of the European Parliament, and some of our group also organized numerous illegal protests in Berlin (and legal ones too), so we are quite aware of how it goes there in Germany…

They are 8, the 8 most powerful presidents, who, each year, dressed in $9999 suits, take the right to enforce their choices to the whole planet.
As an act of civil disobedience, we will blockade this summit. The G8 world is a world of wars, poverty and misery, loss of social and democratic rights, and environment destruction.
This year they will also decide to whom belongs our artistic creations (intellectual rights property) and how to control our means of spreading them (information and communication control, especially on the net), there won’t be any place left for Free, Amateur and Autonomous Arts and Spaces…
With all those who fight against this domination from the “world masters”, we will demonstrate, with our Free Arts, debates and struggles, that we can overthrow their new order, that a fair and equal world is possible and that our utopia is concrete !
As they exploit the whole world, this G8 must be the last !

As you can imagine, the authorities were not really willing to support the protesters in finding Camp Places. Far from it ! The repression was increasing in the last weeks as an attempt of demobilizing us, but most of their attempts failed, turning their propaganda against themselves.

They have only allowed 3 small camps, all far from each others to try to break our coordination. These camps are based on the hard work of the Camp07 group but the state asked for signing contracts and paying a caution which makes that this camps needs to ask a paying entry to the camp (the Camp07 group will also provides water and electricity)…
That was too far from what we are willing to do, a fully autonomous camp, and if we want to prove that our utopia is concrete, we need to demonstrate it !
Moreover as the 3 camps can only take care of about 15 000 people, we need to offer additionnal space to all the others as well, to rest, prepare actions and networking between the groups, even if it is with much less comfort.

On the Free4 camp you will find several Sound Systems grouped in rigs, concerts, visual arts, performances, a spray wall,… But also videos and speeches about activism, repression and alternatives, an alternative media point to relate the infos on the net, an info point, workshops,… And of course food and drinks
If you have any possibilities to participate and to offer some other things, we are of course opened to any initiative/project/actions proposed…

Of course you will need to have some basics things like sleeping materials (tent, van,… and sleeping bags) and water and food (remember what means « autonomy »).
But what is also really important to think about is a small PMR Radio walky talkie [1] because all the coordination, and not only for the Free4 camp but for all actions in general, will be made on radio.
The 2nd June, after the demo, we will give you a meeting point to go to the camp on the radio. For those who won’t be able to get a PMR radio, all infos will be available at the Infopoints. [2]
On sites like free4/gipfel/dissent [3] you will find all infos necessary to prepare yourself, to be aware of what to take and what is legal/illegal there, as well as infos on actions and contacts if you need help during the actions (first aid, legal help,…)

Camps and actions are based on DIY and autonomy so please prepare banners/ideas/paint and balloons/flyers/…
For those who wants to participate actively inside this autonomous camp we need to have a few answers to some questions (for those who haven’t got in touch with us yet):
what do you plan to do? When will you arrive? Do you need anything? Do you have a generator and if not, how many KVa do you need?

If you are fully autonomous and not really willing to announce yourself for reasons that are yours, then of course we will respect your choice and welcome you in any way 🙂

    BRING YOUR RADIO

    > G8 Infostystem !!!!!
    PMR-Info-Radio
To spread the latest news there will be a PMR-Info-Radio. It´s part of the Infosystem and like Infopoints and Infotelephones it will inform you about the latest news about demonstrations, blockades and actions. You can reach it around Heiligendamm and Rostock-Laage during the Action days. PMR means “Public Mobile Radio”. This are a small type of walkie-talkies that you can legally buy and use. Usually the broadcasting range is about 0.5 km to 5km, depending strongly on surroundings (town, mountain, forest, field,…). But to receive the Inforadio you don´t need to send – the PMR receives the news like a usual radio. Due to norming you can buy the PMR all over Europe for about 20 €, better quality for about 40 €, usually you get two for that price. Make sure that they have a connection for headphones. In between broadcasting times the walkie-talkies can of course be used for communication in between groups in the closer action radius.

During actions, news will be broadcasted by PMR radios every hours at approximatively xxh45 on channel 3.

[2] on the main page you find all the Adress of the Infopoints and much more useful Infos:

Thought this would be a good place to put this..????????

Protesters have clashed with police at a largely peaceful anti-globalisation rally in the German city of Rostock.

Rocks, bottles and sticks have been hurled at riot police, who are using tear gas and batons charges to try to disperse the hundreds of rioters.
However, the violence only involves a small portion of the estimated 30,000 people police say had joined the rally.

They are protesting against next week’s G8 summit of leading industrial nations in Heiligendamm, 25km (16 miles) away.

More than 160 groups of anti-globalisation activists, left-wing groups, students and anarchists had been taking part in the march.

Organisers had predicted that 100,000 people would be joining the protest, and though the police estimates of 30,000 are much lower, the BBC’s Tristana Moore in Rostock says many more people are still arriving in the city by bus and train.

Police say that at least 146 officers have been hurt in the fighting.
Masked protesters have broken up paving stones to use as projectiles and overturned and torched several vehicles, spreading a pall of black smoke over the area.

“The police were attacked massively from the violent protesters. They threw bottles, fire crackers, rocks and Molotov cocktails,” police spokesman Frank Scheulen told the Associated Press.

Riot police have responded with tear gas and water cannon in an effort to drive them back.

Our correspondent says that although police have been involved in running charges with protesters they are isolated incidents on the fringes of the rally, involving just a fraction of those in attendance.

The majority of demonstrators have already passed through the city centre and are gathered near the harbour to enjoy a pop concert, our correspondent says.

The challenge for the police now is to contain the violence and ensure it does not reach that concert area, she adds.

Organisers at the concert have been making announcements urging people to stay where they are and not venture over to the part of town where the violence is taking place, but, according to our correspondent, many have been leaving to do just that.

      Here to stay
The German authorities had warned in advance that there were serious concerns that far-left groups were planning violent attacks.
The authorities said they would react quickly to any trouble and had deployed at least 13,000 police onto the streets.

Some shops had boarded up their windows as a precautionary measure.
Many of the protesters have travelled to Rostock from all over Europe and the majority have made camp by the harbour saying that they will stay put until the G8 summit, which runs from 6-8 June.

The activist have pitched their tents in a large field where the main entrance bears the words: “No police and no neo-Nazis.”

“It’s very important people all over the world come and protest against the politics of G8, which actually refer to all people of the world, although they are driven from the high elite in the G8 countries,” said one protester.

“They actually use citizens of the world and the environment of the world as their playground to achieve more money and power.”

      thanks for the update Angel..

some of my friends are there!!!

They are sensible though I think they will try not to get caught up in trouble, I hope it does not spread to the “pop concert”…

i predict a riot… get in there! raaa

sorry to condone violence, but extreme situations cause for extreme measures…

        Staff

An estimated 30,000 people held protests at the weekend..

        That’s a lot of people..

        Quote:
Thousands of demonstrators have converged on Rostock in northern Germany, ahead of the G8 summit in nearby Heiligendamm. The BBC News website’s Jacqueline Head examines the different groups protesting.

There are a broad range of groups rallying, from environmental and anti-poverty campaigners to anti-globalisation and multi-faith groups, with one overarching common interest: social justice.

Organisations include the Global Call to Action against Poverty (GCAP), Greenpeace, Oxfam, Christian Aid, trade unions, Friends of the Earth, Block G8, Attac and “Black Bloc” demonstrators.

They are divided into two main thought camps.
One recognises the G8 as a legitimate way to bring about change, and uses the summit to lobby for causes they believe should be addressed or acted upon by the leaders.

The other is rallying against the notion of G8. They believe that having leaders from eight different nations making decisions on global issues is not democratic, and that those nations are responsible for many of the world’s current problems.
