Nothing wrong with us oldies going clubbing. I’m 33 and been at it for the past 10+ years. Neither were the others at the NYE afterparty (we’re talking about 10am the next day) little kiddies, they had gone home by then. Someone needs to show the kids good example…
I’ve noticed this as well when i go partying, I just turned 29 (yesterday) but still feel like i’m 23. Its true I dont party as often as I used to, ( every weekend and most wednesday nights too)but when I do, I party hard and all day the next day. Where as now i need at least 1 full day of lying about and recovering, when i was 18 I could manage going in to work on a sat morning no problems.
However my lil sis (whos 18 now) has never been to a party in her life and neither have her friends, i’m not sure why, but where i’m from (Canada) I think the smaller parties are being over taken by the bigger clubs and when we had 3 or 4 different parties to choose from on any weekend, there may only be 1 or less nowadays.
Happy birthday 😀
Perhaps as we grow older we actually become better at pacing ourselves and balancing the conflicting demands of life, and are more concious about the effect lack of sleep/comedowns has on performance at work or other tasks?
I reckon I am physically fitter now than I was in my twenties – I can quite easily cycle 30-40 miles to and from parties as well as raving, something I wouldn’t have even considered doing 10 years ago… but I have also calmed down partying slightly as the work I am currently doing is more demanding, yet I am treated well here and therefore try not to let tiredness etc cause me to make more errors which cause delay to others.. (this is also what gets the anti-party types backs up..)
This happened in England as well with the commercial raves and will often happen with all commercial businesses – but theres a thread just started on Canadian free party crews….

good news from my city; some of the teenagers/student/college crowd here want to get a rig together..
Recently, ive noticed the complete opposite – more and more young people seem to be at parties (well at leats in the norfolk area) and even to the point i feel like an oldie (im only 19 i tell ye!) last few parties have remined me of school discos slightly! oh dear!
i like bein the young un, sometimes the slightly saner older folk look aftr u…its quite cool really
I think I’m often one of those………had to rescue a few young uns from mad uns at a recent London rave in Kings Cross!
I’m the only one in the 36-40 ageband!
Used to be FUBAR, now am FOBAR
F*cking Old Beyond All Recognition
Tell you what mate when you get to my age it aint how you look.
Its irrelevant and you are a LOT MORE CHILLED OUT!
BEING THIRTY IS BLOODY MARVELLOUS ,,, I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!
and being older than 30 isn’t bad either :shade:
It`s good to be young . If you are 17 right now you feel me . lol I wish I could be like 13 now . Less problems and lesss headache.
If its who I think it is I’d always thought you were younger than that anyway…
Wow Just by looking at the ages I deff feel young I’m 23 But wow! what a difference bUt I don’t care I Love to rave and go clubbing And It’s fun and makes u feel free and It’s like a Adrenaline. That Goes round And round in your Mind and it’s awsome!
Its not the years in your life that counts but the life in your years :star:
Hello everyone.
I am 34 and I have been raving since I was 20 but taking rugs only for the last 8 years (only because no-one before then had offered them to me!!!)
I love going to raves – there are regular ones in London and you can see folk from all walks of life there.
I used to worry about being the oldest in the club but at London squat parties I really feel I am FREE – you are free to be/wear/say/look like what ever you like.
I like meeting all sorts at parties and lament the days we used to have E that overcame shyness so we could chat all night to strangers. Oh well, I still love seeing young and old at parties – in my party group we range from late 20s to 47 – we all love rugs and we all love techno – SO THERE.
I’m 27 soon and I used to worry that my ravin days were numbered, but i realised the other day that it don’t matter to anyone how much of an old git I am – cos its all about being free to be yourself and having a quality night with your mates. if i start to feel like that again i’ll cure myself by going to one of those over 25’s nights at a high street club and see what the alternative would be if i gave it up
