I saw the small movie and it was a nice action. Not that the party can get through after you get back the aggregaat (dutch). But it was nice to see how all the people together try to overrule the police!!!!! Respect:horay:

I’ve been present at quit some police raids here in Holland, in similar situations. Generally the partypeeps cooperate when the pigs clear the location, mostly because the systempeeps ask you to do so. After all, it’s their rig which is at stake.

But, the few times when shit like this happens, or it escalates for whatever reason (mostly because the police wants it to escalate to set an example, or just because they feel like it), the MP or police usually doesn’t stay this calm and friendly!

Police dogs are always present and they will be set loose immediatly. Teargas and pepperspray will be used, even if there’s one of those damn unguided policedog-missiles tearing your leg apart and you really can’t get away…..Most likely you will even get a few hits with a three feet long police baton on your back, to make sure you’re out….even when the blood of the dogbite fills up your shoes and you’re laying totally desorientated, screaming in pain after being spraid with pepperspray in the eyes..

So it’s really cool to see you guys (who-ever you may be) getting into action like this as a group at once!! “Get your f***ing hands of our generator or we’re taking it back!”

But at least as cool to see: Great that this is still possible over there, without risking serious flesh- and bitewounds, concussions or being blind for an hour….

it’s almost admirable to see how controled and calmly those police pigs act……….. which doesn’t make any less fucked up, that they stopped your (really nice looking) party…..

not trying to be the one to piss you all off but are you kidding? This wasnt violent in the least. There have been many a rave here in the states that have been shut down MUCH more forcefully than this. Take the salt lake city fiasco about 6 months ago for example. No offense but the police did everything necesarry in this situation. The crowd attacked the police. They werent in any sort of mortal danger but the police were trying to shut down the party and the crowd moved in on them. There wouldnt have been a problem had the ravers not made a move in the first place. You have to work within the system, not outside of it. I am a dj and a promoter, I know firsthand how difficult it is to throw an outdoors event. Especially here in the states in texas, its damn near impossible. But I know that if a party gets shut down for ANY reason, valid or not, you NEVER go against the ones shutting it down. It wont make the promoters look good nor the attendees. Can you even imagine how difficult it is to fight something like this in court when one of your attendants has punched a civil servant in the face? I think not.
I wont say anything about this particular party and the justification of shutting it down becuase I dont have the information, but if it weren’t completly legal with every t crossed and every i dotted, its not the fault of the police, they were doing thier job.

this isn’t a legal event held in a club … it is whats called a “free party” or may be called an “outlaw party” in the USA.

People simply go into a public area (this forest is like a smaller scale of your national parks) and set up their sound systems there. One reason it happens is that here in England club licenses are impossible to get in some areas because of paranoia over drugs, and large style club events can have entry prices of around $50-$100 even!

Kids round here just can’t afford it. This country isn’t as rich as its made out to be, nor is it the “cricket, bowler hats and “jollly good show” place where we all tug our forelocks to the queen 😉

Sometimes people get away with the party (they have been doing events like this for over 16 years now); sometimes the TSG cops (riot squad) are deployed to stop it like in this situation. One problem is that because land is so expensive and houses close together if there is too much sound system or people party for too long the neighbours call the cops.

give it 10 more years and then see how the ob will close down an illegal .u ain,t seen nothing yet .the anti is being upped by the state .babylon hates us and middle england is demanding action .if u party illegally u have got to expect that this sort of thing is to become the norm from now on .when the powers from above want a rave closed down then it will be closed down .end of .if u fight back u could end up with a spell inside .all over a fucking party .

lots of people have already gone down for their involvement in the party scene – some for licensing violations, others for drugs – some even just for traffic offences (some mates of mine never had full driving license but didn’t stop them providing rave transport – at least until they got caught!)

most people come through it but even a short stretch fucks up your life in other ways, not exactly easy to get a job afterwards or stay close to your family unless you have very understanding people close to you…

As for fighting the cops I can understand why it happened in this case, but think about what happens to the travellers – they didn’t and probably still don’t take any shit off the cops; but now when the cops want a site turned over its full on armed response these days as well as riot squad..

i liked this picture, from the recent riots in Mexico where police arrested some street vendors for trading without a permit and the whole town turned out in support of the vendors against police corruption / oppression

we have it very fuckin easy in this country TBH and rarely stand together when it really matters

true, but could you ever envisage locals in many areas ever coming out in support of ravers in an area that gets rinsed bare when there are houses and businesses nearby?

same thing happened with the Ridgeway – sometimes riot cops cracked heads; other times they ended up in a similar situation to the pic you posted. Also Bristol and in Norwich city venues

people tried to bundle cops as well or pelt them in loads of rave areas..

I do feel sorry for the younger ravers as they are carrying the can for previous generations excesses as well, but this sort of malarkey has gone on for 16 years now (mind you I reckon only a country like Britain would have tolerated this for so long)
