the blanket ban only applies to the United Kingdom but in reality a lot of other EU countries have already passed similar bans two years ago also In October 2015 China made a load of popular chems illegal because of the bad effects they were having on well educated middle class Chinese kids.
Just before then I even noticed myself a rise in unusual sketchy and creepy burglaries and other activities committed by young men who had overused NPS reported in the Chinese news sites – I do not know enough Chinese to read an infant school kids book let alone a newspaper so have to use authorised translated websites; and China has the power to totally censor all media that can be read in foreign lands so coudl easily have covered up these news reports.
the wider problem with shipping anything to USA is your country’s inbound customs.
16 years ago for my work I had to send large electronic circuit boards and other specialised computer items from UK to USA for big companies like DirectTV and EWTN; the Customs always did a full check on the contents and we are supposed to be friendly countries; the UK firm I worked for was US owned and the commodities were all legal and correct duty paid.
if Washington was that suspicious during more optimistic world times how do you think they are going to act today?
The Customs don’t always tell folk stuff has been seized or do so in such a way the recepient could be nicked so they don’t let on how the package went astray – its also (quite rightly) illegal under European law to rip people off the vendors might have to reimburse the purchaser so many Euro companies simply refuse business from USA or other non EU nations.
Happens the other way round as well even with legit stuff (especially electronics and computer gear). Canada does have different laws and is “next door” so you may have better luck there but they aren’t immune to the US law either.
