wonder how long they will be dealing with these riots? and the after effects of the physical and mental damage?

Have been fairly quiet last night (only 50 arrested)..

There were a LOT of cops on the streets..

The people on Christiania and the area around (Christianshavn) held guard in the area them self.. (and nearly got arrested)

Think they made some of the young kids think again before they ruined anything, the people out there are very angry about the destruction of the school..

We have teams in Denmark of parents who walk around in the big cities at night and keeping an eye on the kids, they are well known ,by the way they dress..And they are well liked in the cities..

3 of them were helping a young person who have had an accident with his hands last night, they got arrested because they didn’t move when the police told them too :you_crazy

Saw an interview with a women who were down shopping in her local shop.. The police wouldn’t let her go home again..

(well they would after she had been on the news:laugh_at:)

the BBC news says that some “security vans” were from Sweden (not sure if the Swedes provided just vans or cops as well).

If the Danish police have the “tetra” radio (it is like a big mobile phone) this often means they can call up reinforcements from other areas or even other countries very quickly

do they always do this (like when there isn’t a riot?) This is a very good idea…

I don’t think the politicians are thinking rationally though… or they are simply trying to push through by force a society where everything has to be done by money and the market…

why did they not let the ungdomshuset people just occupy that disused building they got into a few months back? I suspect the trouble would have stopped soon afterwards if they had made this compromise….

They have been on the streets in the weekends the last 4 – 5 years..

There are about 15.000 Natteravne (night watchers) in Denmark..

They usually give the young people sweets and condoms and just have a chat with them

They look like this, they are very easy to recognize
        m_3_ravne_i_solen.jpg

Have just read that the house will be torn down, they have started to remove asbestos from the walls and they have removed all the windows..

The fond that want to help Ungdomshuset are looking for a house, but it’s not easy to find one after the things that have happened the last 4 days.

Nobody want to live beside a new Ungdomshus..

And the kids don’t want another house..Jagtvej 69 is their home..

….this one…YES, but we not giving up the fight for having a new one…this is just a new beginig a new chapter so to speak…

Saturday a had to be police for my friends, as Angel told you I was cleaning up the mess after a police raid, but I was not in folkets hus, I was in and old activist collective called bumzen, where people lives and have a café in the groundfloor, Police raded the place staring with filling it up with tear gas….the tried to ram the doors but could not get in so the people in the house open it for them….and they had tried to do that when the tear gas started raining in….the first the pigs did was beating up everyone and no-one had tried to resist…It was pure punish ment….afterwards they smashed up peoples privat rooms, all of them exept 4 (ca 18 in total)….But worst of all; they left the building open! So my presence was much needed! Because the nazis is on the move and want use the opertunity to have easy go!

The police raided also a place for people with mental illnes wich was totally inocent in everyway….the way police is behaving make the hatered even worse….

I am abit tired(becauce of the rests of teargas in the house wich I stayed in awake in for 26 hours) now and use this day to save up some strength for the struggle aint over……..

raaafight for your right to party!

Activists have started a new website with a debates in support of Ungdomshuset. The unknown group calles themselves “We only just started” and want to extend the battle for Ungdomshuset to a “social and cultural riot”. They handed out in copenhagen today writing about the weekend’s events: “The energy we exhibited in the weekend, is the core in a society, the holds more than cafe latte, nuclear families and pension funds. Its about much more than a house. Its about our lives and the future, about how society as a whole should develop”.

          We only just started!

Thanks for a great weekend. Its been amazing taking to the streets with you all. None of us will ever be the same again.
Ritt (the mayor of Copenhagen), gathered all the Danish police in Copenhagen to prevent us from reacting, on the eviction of Ungdomshuset. That didn’t stop us. We defied everything and created history. With millitary precision the police made a surgical incision. But the boil they thought that they were to remove in a flash, soon spread all over the city and to places such as Hamburg, Cologne, Berlin, Gothenburg, Trondheim, Malmo, Oslo, Stockholm, Istanbul, Vienna, Århus, Horsens, Umeå, Karlskrona and many more places. It was covered by all the Danish media and it was the top story with CNN, BCC and Al Jazeera.
This weekend we have proven once and for all, that we are not a marginalized subculture, but a large, and growing, group of young people. When people riot on a scale like this weekend, it is proof that something is totally wrong. In a democratic country, all the alarms should be ringing, when you send in the whole police force to fight down a social and cultural uprising. But a social and cultural uprising can take on many forms. One thing is burning cars, something else is taking the fight into our everyday lives.
Now it is Monday morning. And the weekdays are back. The kind of weekdays where you go to work and school, shop for dinner and take the bus. And maybe doubt is beginning to kick in. Will the system get the last word, if you get up this morning, and drink your coffee and go to work as usual? The capitalist society has got us by the throat, but we have shown them that it doesn’t have to be like that.
When doubt sticks its head out, that is when we have to learn form it. It is there for obvious reasons. Our friends have been unjustly imprisoned in huge numbers. We have been poisoned with gas, beaten with clubs, and had our homes raided. It’s all right to be afraid. But can we continue our lives like nothing happened? NO! Cause this Monday is not like the others. The creativity and energy that has been released can be used to keep the struggle going, and we are the ones who will decide how to carry on the fight. We will keep on coming back again and again. Time after time we break the systems frames of perception. We will keep on doing the unexplainable and selfexplanatory things. The unexpected and unpredictable. We want everything.
We took a big step and showed how important this social and cultural struggle is. A struggle where so many will risk so much to get the attention of the world around them. But the struggle for more free spaces, where we can show our resistance against a tendency of normalization that only wishes to make people more effective, docile and obedient, must be fought in the schools, at work and on the social security office.
The energy we exhibited in the weekend, is the core in a society, the holds more than cafe latte, nuclear families and pension funds. Its about much more than a house. Its about our lives and the future, about how society as a whole should develop.
We have drawn the eyes of the world to a fight, that is fought everywhere. We have created history, and history will not be forgotten in one day. Even though today is Monday, the struggle continues. Don’t push away the daily routine like it can’t be changed. Use it. Tell your fellow students and colleagues about our struggle. Remember that we are many.
Now we must stand together and look out for each other. We must make big plans, and on top of that it will be great fun too. Are you ready? This is bigger than Jagtvej 69.

The citizen group for Ungdomshuset has opened a bank account where you can donate money to support the struggle for a new Ungdomshuset. The money will be administered by activists from Ungdomshuset, and will not be used to buy another house, but will be used to make poster, flyers, etc – http://www.jagtvej69.dk/

According to modkraft’s sources Copenhagen police have been driving around town in an attempt to identify and arrest people who were involved in the ungdomshus riots. The police are carrying a photo album of suspects in one of their vans

Several of the companies that are helping Faderhuset tear down Ungdomshuset have been recieving threats and have already been attacked.
