This is done the old way; the SVG map has been printed by an inkjet printer to an acetate sheet and projected using an old German overhead projector. The two clocks are controlled by MSF and DCF77 radio signals (my bedroom is the only place that is clear from other interference), there is a stealth wire antenna on this wall for HF monitoring. I managed to get the clocks in positions you would associate with the time zones.
Other acetate sheets can be added to the map for overlays. This is a lot easier for an older chap for me to deal with than Google Maps (which are prone to inaccuracies, Americans struggle with Europe’s geography).
I hope I do not have to add things like this too often (the “kaboom” symbol is a UN standard marker, replacing the “crossed swords” traditionally used in British cartography). TBH I would have to add a separate layer (and then some others) to accurately represent all current conflict zones in that part of the world, but this one is significant as it effectively represents a border change (and may mean having to update the map again as some point)
