To be fair I don’t blame them.
If they are running it on TENS license there is a strict limit of 500 people includiing crew.
They are also viewed by authorities as at least partially responsible for any crimes created by the event (such as the defrauding of the taxicab drivers), simply because they are attracting numbers of young folk to a remote and otherwise boring part of Essex who would not normally be there.
If their license condition is breached, the event can be locked off like any other illegal rave and they will be prevented from holding any further events in that venue.
Its also someones daytime business and livelihood and TBH I admire their bravery in putting on these events as despite EA’s size its a small world and if one of these events fucked up and caused big problems in the community, their neighbours might well do everything possible to try and put the main farm out of business as a reprisal – and with all the rules and regulations applicable to farming they could possibly do this without turning to illegal/violent means..
