I went to this party at the weekend. Bit of a strange one really. The location was used 3 weeks before so was bait. Rig was going on and off most of the night and everyone was dancing on a big pile of shit basically. Anyone of here go?

it feels like norfolk is in the news every week at the moment,
i wanna hear a good news story from norfolk! c’mon i know you got one in ya! along the lines of….
“good party in norfolk saturday, rig was sounding sweet, good atmosphere & good tunes! shut down amicably at 3pm and left the site untouched, unloaded the equipment without any bother! am now at home with a cuppa!”
boundaries are a bit confusing there as you can cross the border at multiple points whilst going roughly in a straight line!unfortunately all the public areas like Thetford Forest and Rendlesham have been rinsed so Forestry and the wider public no longer tolerate regular events there (they once did).
That said, there have been decent EA parties not so long ago (in the last 2 years) – in Suffolk! These are smaller private parties where there is not just permission to use the land but a family connection between the organisers and the landowner – for this reason they aren’t discussed on forums like this as the organisers don’t want half of EA turning up and causing trouble.
I’ve not heard of as many recently though and have a nasty feeling folk have been visited by local cops and “words have been had” with parents etc, especially about how they are liable in civil court for any harm caused to partygoers even for a private party (its true, you have a duty of care to all visitors to your house) bear in mind that middle class families aren’t shy of suing one another – no one wants to risk their family business which is understandable..
Also, given recent events why wouldn’t cops try to stop raves? there has been open discussion on facebook and several forums about incidents including stabbings, beatings, false imprisonment, attacks with weapons, all at unlicensed music events in Norfolk.
There are veiled and not so veiled calls for revenge attacks amongst a wide group of people with views broadly supportive of DIY justice and possible links with other incidents of youth violence which have occurred in the region.
This is a escalation of issues as well as noise, environment/property damage and disrespecting private property rights, and a serious one as people are now getting hurt rather than just being kept awake.
it might not be enough to get people arrested but its enough for cops to justify shutting down the events on public safety grounds alone as its valid intelligence there are increasing risks of serious violence. At least in people start beating the shit out of each other in Stow or Fram outside townie venues they are seen on CCTV and brought to account by the proper authorities and sent down, rather than things escalating into spiralling attacks and counterattacks…
It would be a shame to see East Anglia crews repeat their past mistakes e.g. rinsing venues which lost the good situation they once had

this is not confined to East Anglia. The Ridgeway, particularly areas close to Reading and also places like that tunnel in Lewknor have also got rinsed and locked off.
Anyway, the locals, Police and Councils simply will not allow crews to continue in that manner, whether in SE England or East Anglia.
People in rural areas now call nines as soon as they see any strange vehicles near fields, to the point where a group of birdwatchers had their vehicles stopped and searched as they had gone out to look for owls (there are a fair few round here) and a local had thought they were scouting out areas for raves :laugh_at:
What is much more of a problem anyway is the violence.
This was very rare for East Anglian events (which were friendlier than SE England ones and I’ve been to both) but now sadly has increasingly become a problem at both unlicensed and licensed events. To be truthful I’ve seen as many incidents in so-called “rave” events as in “town” pubs, and find the atmosphere in the local real ale pubs friendlier than some dance music events.
Its more a spillover from mainstream youth culture and society becoming more angry as the economy declines (a lot of these arguments start over debts/alleged theft of drugs or other items which is the sort of thing what happens when people have a taste for expensive drugs but no day jobs)
in the unregulated environment of a unlicensed rave in a remote area, there is nothing stopping someone who is determined taking an even greater level of revenge on an enemy than in a town where bystanders, CCTV and even Police patrols may cause a quicker intervention or increase the risks of detection.
